Stopped reading there. "The Search" doesn't think, he reacts. He had to be told by others that Texas was trying to get Mainieri before talking to Paul about a new contract.
The same thing happened with Beth Torina.
I'm extremely perplexed as to how a guy who has such a poor career record and zero PR skills, and comes off as a jerk most of the time has landed the Duke and LSU AD gigs. Only Lane Kiffin can claim a more prestigious career span with less credentials.

That’s a complet fabrication. It is widely known that Patterson won’t leave TCU. He gets paid well, has run of the shop, and plays in a weak conference (for the most part).
He has been approached by several teams regarding many high profile jobs and he prefers to stay at tcu.

I'd call this bullshite. Gary Patterson's wife is from the area, and there was no possible way Patterson had a legit interest in LSU. Chris Landry is grossly mistaken on this one.

Regardless of if he was interesred or not, leave no stone unturned. It takes 10 minutes to talk to Bill Belichick's agent.

Which part? That Patterson had legit interest or that ANYONE ELSE had legit interest?
The first part.
I don't think this is the thread to change the topic and argue something different. I've expressed my opinion of the hiring process and the hire many times. FWIW, I hate Alleva and think he should be fired.
But, this story by Landry is obviously bullshite. And, furthermore, over the last several weeks I've been getting the feeling that Landry is trying to build himself up and get something out of the next transition.
This is total speculation, but I think he wants some type of administrative football position in the athletic department.

Correct, did you listen to the one from a few weeks ago, where he was saying he told LSU to hire Saban over Dinardo?.. This guy is a joke, he should go back to plagiarizing LINK
I didn't hear that, but I did hear him make the claim that he once was pitching LSU to Saban before he came here.
I think that's also major bullshite. He's trying to make himself more than he is. And, he's doing that for a reason. Don't be surprised if his name starts getting floated for some position.

I listened to that podcast last week to see what all of the fuss was about. If you can't hear in the first 10 minutes that this guy is taking pebbles of information and building mountains for his own personal gain then you are a sucker.
He's just piling on new bullshite every week.

I haven't spent the time to do this. But, I'm glad to know that my independent suspicions are on point.
What do you think Landry's end game is?

To make money on a podcast? To increase the consulting business that claims he has? To land a position in an athletic department?
I don't know what he wants. I have a hard time buying that a successful consultant in any industry would give away his opinions for free. That's what he should be getting paid for.
