I'm sure it's been discussed here ten million times, but I was in a conversation with some older fans who gave me a lecture, so I gotta ask.

2 time first team All-AMERICAN
2 time SEC player of the year

He played before I was born, but I know he was on an all time team in BR with Stanley Roberts and Diesel, but there's only so much footage on youtube.

So, how good was Chris in college exclusively?
Where does he rank all time in purple and gold?
Top 5/10 list?

He was frickin' awesome.

Gotta be Top 5.

When he was on ... it was like a precursor to Steph Curry.

Chris Jackson was the best scoring guard I have ever seen play in college. He was unreal.

There are plenty of highlight reels and game mashups to watch.

Sort of answers your question, doesn't it?

Top two. There's the Pistol and then there's Chris Jackson and it ain't even close. Shaq was not as good a college basketball player as Chris Jackson.

Agree. Best scorer I've ever seen in college. His one on one cross over between the legs dribble and shoot move was like nothing I've ever seen. No one could guard him.

I never saw Pistol Pete or any guys pre-1985, but he was better than anybody else at the time or since, if we are just talking about college.

He not just an amazing shooter but was also an amazing ball handler. Watching him dribble through Arkansas' 40 minutes of hell was beautiful.

The most impressive performer I've ever seen in person wearing an LSU uniform in any sport.

With only 3 channels, we would pray LSU basketball had the game of the week on Jefferson Pilot

His name is Chris and he was must see TV while at LSU. Killer crossover and too quick for anybody to guard him.

Best college bball player I've ever seen. No doubt.

ETA: Think Steph curry of today but maybe more athletic. Just not as tall. That was CJ as a college bball player.

I remember going into that season, the expectations were kind of low. Shaq wasn't coming until the next year.

The PMAC was empty during the early non conf games and then he went off against Fla if I remember right, you couldn't get a seat the rest of the year.

I was a student at the time and the first few games there was hardly anyone in the student section.

Dang he was a baller. I loved watch him play. The guy could hit a shot from anywhere.

Find Dale Browns book "Don't Count Me Out" and read the chapter about Chris Jackson.
