The problem is the last 2 years when JJ starts a game he is just as likely to be horrid as he is to be good. 2010 13 starts 7 horrid games 2 decent ones and 3 good to very good. 2011 4 starts 2-3 good to very good games 1 horrible game.

Total 8 horrible games 9 decent to very good games he is a coin toss!
There is a trend there that you intentionally failed to mention.

Jefferson has had a grand total of two bad games since he started the Alabama game last year.

I think you lost a game somewhere in there.

While I agree with you about him being very hit or miss, it seems like you're coming from all directions to try and find an argument that works for you. Ha.

As of now, if my math and stats are correct, Jefferson has accounted for 5683 total yards, 46 touchdowns, and a 58.5 completion percentage while throwing 19 interceptions. Anyone had any idea of those numbers? I was kind of surprised, to be honest.

How many points did a Lee lead offense score against Alabama?

He played 5 minutes and 37 seconds (which takes into account the JJ 3rd-and-1 possession in the first drive). JJ played 23 minutes and 33 seconds and the offense earned 3 points during that time.

Again , the tying field goal "drive" consisted of 2 yards before the short field goal was kicked. Alleman would have kicked a 32-yarder instead of a 30-yarder even if we had taken a knee 3 times. That was undeniably Claiborne and the defense's 3 points.

Look, I'm just trying to bring some facts into a never-ending argument that usually winds up filled with posters insulting each other's intelligence, as well as their mothers.

The primary credit for the first game victory lies with the defense and our kickerS (Wing's punts as well as Alleman's FG's).
The game was very even statistically, with time of possession almost a dead heat. They had a couple more first downs and about 56 more total yards, penalties and penalty yardage was pretty close as well as was the 3rd down conversion success.

The plus side of playing Alabama again since the BCS is requiring us to (even though I too wanted Okie State), is that the team has an opportunity to put to rest the large number of college football fans who came away from that game believing that the two teams played each other even. A second win over them eliminates any and all excuses or hypotheticals about which team earned its laurels.

I hope both QB's play, and contribute equally to, a win in the BCSCG. That, and that alone, would be a fitting and fair epitaph for both senior QB's, both of whom have played key roles in this team's success while on campus. Both would be remembered as winners, as would the team, the school and the fans.

Ah, yes. That encompasses how many games he has started this year? And how many of those started well? You are picking the pits out of the cherries now. You've consistently tried to get us to forget the first half of both of the last two seasons. I nominate your title for a truth in advertising award at least.

We will need both to beat Bama the second time. Bama defense will commit to take out our running game. Passing will have to be successful and hopefully we don't get behind by more than 1 touchdown. I would hate to lose the game after our amazing season. Les still should have made the change to Lee last game.

That's a lot of words and a very poor attempt to ignore a very simple fact:

Jefferson has gotten a lot better since starting the Alabama game in 2010.

Do starts really matter? Does it matter who gets the first snap of the game when determining whether a QB played well or not?

quote:

And how many of those started well?
LSU tends to start slow and score more points in the second half of the game. Our depth and talent wears teams out. That is the 2011 game plan.

Jefferson has improved since the first half of 2010. I'm not trying to get anyone to forget the first half of 2011.

Except that the stats are not cherry picked at all. Those are the stats for Jefferson against Alabama.

JJ can go an entire half without a first down

You do know that LSU had 11 guys trying to get a 1st down and they all failed...right.

We win 42-10 to go 13-0, win the SEC, and earn a trip to the BCSCG, but some want to talk lack of 1st downs in the 1st half.

Talk bout not being able to see the forest for the trees and agenda over results.

Jefferson has started 9 games from the Bama 2010 game until now.

2010
Bama game good game, ULM horrible, Ole Miss very good, Arky decent game or if u want to split hairs very good first half bad 2nd half so I say decent game. A&M very good.

2011
Western Ky - good game, Ole Miss good game but really didnt have to do much, Arky good game, Georgia horrible game.

So since Bama I read it as 6 good to very good 2 horrible games and 1 decent game. In 2011 3 of the 4 defenses he started against were very bad.

Againg your cherry picking and he still has not consistently played well even in this scenario.

You do know the qb handles the ball on every offensive play and has the most effect on the offense.

Amazingly no game Lee started did those 11 guys fail to attain a first down in an entire half!

I am sure Lonnie u think that is just a coincidence!

You know, we have one game left, this doesn't even matter any more. It's JJ's game in the Dome. Lets hope he improves.

Amazingly we still average more yards and ponts when JJ starts.

Especially when of the 4 games JJ has started 3 of them have been the worst defenses LSU has faced!

I said:

You clearly agree with me. You just use a lot more verbiage to do it:

First, you are wrong. Second, every QB has some games against very bad defenses. Third, over a quarter of his pass attempts are against the two best defenses in the NCAA outside of LSU.

TigerLee has already called you a liar and dared you to prove him wrong and of course you havent. So I am calling you a liar as well and if need be I will link you to positive posts I have made. Unlike you I will actually prove my claims just to prove you a liar again.

Might want to try being truthful in the future!

And were we doing that during the first half of 2011?

We can agree. Jefferson was much better in the first half of 2011 than he was in the first half of 2010.
