He has started adn played the entire game against one good defense UGA. What was his completion percentage for that game?
Jefferson had a bad game against Georgia. His completion percentage was bad.

QBs have bad games.

For example, Jefferson's completion percentage against the #3 Defense in the country during the SECCG was actually higher than Lee's completion percentage against Kentucky.

After watcing his improved passing against Ark, I thought JJ had turned a corner. After watching his lack of accuracy in this game, I'm reminded that he is what he is: An average SEC QB.

Same can be said for JL. In a clean pocket he delivers a quick, accurate ball. Put a little pressure on him and his accuracy and decision making seem to leave him.

We have two average QB's and Les obviously feels the one w/ mobility will better serve this team. Although I have in the past, I can't argue w/ him now.

That's 2 percentage points better than Elway for his career.

Both Qb's have been an intergral part of the offense but not the pivotal part of the team.
LSU has not been a QB driven team in 2011.

Go look at Matt Mauck's numbers and compare to Jefferson's. I bet you'd much rather have Mauck as the quaterback right now, off of the top of your head. (Just looking at career stats, not season.)

Check Matt Flynn's while you're at it too.

So, the fact that the option attack worked against Bama, and Jefferson is the better option quarterback means Jefferson's abilities didn't help win the game?

How many points did a Lee lead offense score against Alabama?

Some of you need to learn about Illusory correlation.

We all agreed the change was necessary at the time it happened. It's pretty amazing though how truth stretches to fantasy so quickly however.

JJ is definitely a better qb than Elway ever was!

Mauck and Jefferson are both higher than Flynn.

Lee vs Bama, in his short stint on the field.

Yet many of our fans sealed his fate right there.

Where did I say that? You were arguing numbers. I gave you numbers. Since they don't agree with you, you're changing the argument.

That statement says more about how good John Elway was than how good Jordan Jefferson is.

JJ played poorly against UGA.
Lee played poorly against Alabama.

Those are the two best defenses we faced all year. One bad game doesn't make either player worthless.

Just as people have said Lee's history shouldn't be held against him because he struggled against Alabama, JJ's history shouldn't be held against him because he struggled against UGA. Both have played much better this year than they have in year's prior.

Regardless, this team isn't and never has been dependent upon awesome QB play. The offense can and does succeed regardless of who is playing QB.

Is it an illusion? I think the numbers the last few years show that Jefferson is a pretty good, and maybe the better, option against Bama.

That, I think, may be correct.

Half of his passing came on one play, but he did play well that day.

I will agree with that statement totally!

The problem is the last 2 years when JJ starts a game he is just as likely to be horrid as he is to be good. 2010 13 starts 7 horrid games 2 decent ones and 3 good to very good. 2011 4 starts 2-3 good to very good games 1 horrible game.

Total 8 horrible games 9 decent to very good games he is a coin toss!

He hasn't played badly vs Bama. Not spectacular, not bad though. It's a whole different season and a one game championship. As long as the offense is tooled to his strengths, it will be fine.
