Based on what, our rich basketball tradition? Numerous championships? Support from the fan base? Be realistic, this isn’t football. However, Woodward gets a hard on for severely over paying people so that would be the only way we’d get “whoever we want.”

Yeah our program certainly has a huge history of great success. 
Will Wade energized the program and had the program trending in the right direction. You can’t deny that.

Unfortunately, NIL came about 2 years to late to salvage the LSU/Wade marriage. Wade survived 1 smoking gun, when he was found holding the second smoking gun after lying to his boss about it, he had to go.
Did he bring excitement to the team? Yep
Did he get caught red-handed? Also yep
Maybe McMahon isn't answer, but Wade had no more success than John Brady or Dale Brown. Let's not act like the LSU basketball program has no pedigree of its own, because it's demonstrably untrue.

We probably can, but we didn’t with MM. despite all the Woodward bootlickers telling us he would get someone better than Wade.
Well, he didn’t.
It’s not like Woody didn’t have resources available. He didn’t pay a buyout to Wade. Instead of going out and spending the money to get a top tier coach, we went with the cheap and lazy hire.
Look what Arizona did in a similar situation. Facing “drastic” sanctions after an assistant coach was convicted and head coach allegedly caught on tape.
They spent money, made a great hire, and better off now (and it didn’t take 3-4 years).

I agree with this. McMahon played and coached under Buzz Peterson, who I assume recommended him to Woodward. Woodward strayed from his MO and didn't go out and get a more established coach.

Yes. But only because there is a championship caliber HC, Chris Beard, sitting out there without a job. Whoever hires him his going to catch a bunch of initial PR heat. They will also be competing for Final Fours very soon thereafter
