On a Too Early Depth Chart, Chase was listed as number 2 behind Emery for returning kick offs. I realize most kickoffs are not returned, but why even considering him for this position. Chase's talent is running away from defenders, not running head-on into special teams looking for blood. There are plenty of options for this possition and Chase is not one of them. Just listing his name is a head scratcher.

There’s less than one KOR per game on average. Why do people care about the KO returner lol

There is enough talent on team to spare him from that.
Now if he wants to don’t hold him back.

Not only that, why would you let the opposition have a chance to get that kind of a running start to hit him, when he is so valuable to the offense?

The only reason Fournette returned some KOs was because he insisted on it, and he did what he wanted

Ideally your KOR is running away from defenders too.

Maybe breaking one tackle but it’s not like you’re supposed to run defenders over.

Nah man, Trindon was the best because of his power running ability. He was just average at running away from defenders.

No it’s not. It’s simple- get the ball into his hands as much as possible. Patrick Peterson, Tyrann Mathieu, Odell Beckham, DJ Chark, Saquon Barkley all were returners as well.

Don’t worry though. It’ll be John returning and trey Palmer begins him.

Thank you. That was a Dandy Don list. Just remember, there's always a Tory Carter type ready to take out your number one receiver.

Alright, yeah, put our best player in the most danger with very little chance of anything positive. Great thinking, Coach!

Can confirm that Chase will NOT be the KOR guy.

There must be a lot of great players insisting on it then.

To be fair last year, O definitely felt it best to let Joe and crew do the damage rather than risk a negative play on a KOR. There were several opportunities for CEH to return a kick however he simply fair caught the ball in order to start with decent field position.

This year KOR may play a bigger role bc you no longer have the Heisman winner running the show.

I know I'm basing this on only one play, but let Palmer handle all kick return duties and call it a day. Do we really feel he'll crack the regular rotation all that much?

Unless there are issues with his hands.
