Chartered Bus to Tiger Stadium

Hi all.
I've chartered a bus for 50+ Syracuse fans who are flying into New Orleans and visiting Baton Rogue for the day on September 23.
The booking is all taken care of. That said, I'd appreciate advice on best drop off / pick up point near the stadium. Where's the best place for a big group to be let off and picked up?
We're getting in 4 - 4.5 hours before kick to partake in pre-game festivities. Should I worry about traffic in that window?
Any advice you may have would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Why so late?

If I am not mistaken there is a parking lot for visiting fans' buses on Skip Bertman Drive, between the football practice facility and the softball complex. The walk to the stadium is not far from there, just over the rail road tracks and across Nicholson Drive.

You will need to have your bus driver drop you off in LOT 406, which is adjacent to the LSU Softball stadium on Skip Bertman Drive. Parking is limited for buses and is first come/first serve. Getting there 4-4.5 hours prior to kickoff might be tough, so consider getting to campus between 12-1 (assuming a 6:30-7:00 kickoff time). Traffic gets pretty jammed starting around noon, so I'd advise to have your bus approach LOT 406 from the River Road corridor to avoid the mess that Nicholson Drive becomes on gameday. Hope this helps.

Much appreciated everyone.
I was trying to keep costs down by chartering the bus for 13 hours instead of 15, but I'm getting the vibe that I should just put everyone on campus 6 hours early instead of 4, both for traffic and ambiance.
Am I correct?

Yeah that's correct. You'll need to bit the bullet for the 15 hours. It will be worth it, I assure you.

Correct, because if you wait to arrive around 2 or later you will spend more time wasted in traffic. Also, herding around a group of 50+ takes time, and the walk from the bus parking to the center of tailgating campus will be 20-30 minutes as a leisurely stroll. You will be doing your guests a favor by giving them plenty of time to soak it all in.

Another question:
What's the best arrival time if the game is at 11am / Noon? How about 230 / 3?
I appreciate the help here. Many of us are coming down to experience a real tailgate scene, and I hadn't fully realized the scope of it until just now!

I am willing to bet my house on the game being a 6:00 PM or later kickoff. LSU rarely, if ever, plays non-conference games in Tiger Stadium during the day in September. If the game is a 230-3 kickoff, get to campus by 10. If it's a 11-12 kickoff, don't stop drinking from the night before...

Thanks. Just trying to cover all of my bases.

The only non conf day home game I can remember since 2000 is appy st., and that was moved from a night kick due to an approaching hurricane. This will be a night kickoff.

I'd also recommend you plan in your itinerary for the day to get into the stadium early (30-45 minutes is plenty of time) so your group can get through the lines to enter, find your seats, and be able to watch the pre-game festivities like the band marching on the field, etc. Maybe I'll see your group of Orange come by my crew's tailgate spot, and if so please stop in and eat/drink on us. Hopefully the rest of the LSU fans show y'all a good time while you're on campus.

LSU should have a new tiger by then. Plan to stop by the habitat and check him out. There will also be a live band. Don't know who or if they are good.
Here is a link to a generic 2017 fan guide with events and other times of interest. Acceptable and prohibited handbags, etc.
They also have more specific ones on a per game basis.

Also, try tailgating around the Parade Grounds near the LSU Union. The Union has restrooms , food court , and air conditioning.

I would also suggest watching the drums and tubas warm up before the march down the hill. It's usually like 20-30 minutes before they march over by the Greek amphitheater. Search LSU Tubaquake I believe it is on youtube.

My job is to book the bus. If they can't make it up in one piece, well,
