Tracking Grad Transfers

Posted by LeMoyneCuse on 1/7/18 at 11:35 am
Hey everyone.

I know aside from your D2 kicker, you guys haven't thus far had much activity on the grad transfer market.

But if you're interested, I've compiled a list of all of the FBS movement at Grad Transfer Tracker. Give it a look, and reach out to me there if I'm missing any news from LSU that I should know.

Thanks!

I keep up with syraclose very closely

I follow them closer. We do have massive talent issues. High school football is very bad in New York. The Central New York region (which includes Syracuse) looks like it's going to produce three players going to Power Five schools this year. That's about average. About 5 good players come out of NYC / Long Island every year, and anyone worth a damn from down there is going to Ohio State or Notre Dame. We have to pull from Florida and Ohio, which means we're never going to get the talent that other programs will.

That said, we like our quarterback, we have a couple of good receivers, and our defense is much better than last year. And the system is constructed to maximize what talent we do have.

We don't think we'll win, but we're not directional state either.
If you go to our board, you'll see many discussions about why the running game isn't working. It's 50% our line has been mediocre, 50% our running backs are lousy. I don't know if we can push you guys off the line, no matter what defensive arrangement you play.

The MTSU loss a punch in the nut sack. We played way below what is possible. That said, our coach already said we don't have the skill that Miss State has, and therefore we can't replicate the game plan.

We're all trying to talk ourselves into a good game, but the fans that are coming to Baton Rouge are there to party and experience a tailgate scene. We're not coming with expectations of a win. Although we wouldn't say no to one.

I'd connect with an alumni association or something to see if there is already a Syracuse group tailgate.

Yeah, unfortunately the Alumni office isn't doing anything for this game. Which is why some random schmuck on a message board has to put a full bus together!

what the other poster said about arriving earlier is good advice. bite the bullet.

Really appreciate this advice and the rest you provide. To be clear, this is about 12 different groups from our message board who are all pooling money to get a bus. We're not some awkward group with cameras around our necks

I'll be sure to pass this info along!

You got tracking devices on these baws? That big a group of NY yankee doodles you bound to lose 5-10 between arrival and departure. 1/2 that number gonna be too drunk to comprehend reality too.

My job is to book the bus. If they can't make it up in one piece, well, :violin:

LSU rarely, if ever, plays non-conference games in Tiger Stadium during the day in September. If the game is a 230-3 kickoff, get to campus by 10. If it's a 11-12 kickoff, don't stop drinking from the night before...

Thanks. Just trying to cover all of my bases.

Another question:

What's the best arrival time if the game is at 11am / Noon? How about 230 / 3?

I appreciate the help here. Many of us are coming down to experience a real tailgate scene, and I hadn't fully realized the scope of it until just now!

Much appreciated everyone.

I was trying to keep costs down by chartering the bus for 13 hours instead of 15, but I'm getting the vibe that I should just put everyone on campus 6 hours early instead of 4, both for traffic and ambiance.

Am I correct?

Chartered Bus to Tiger Stadium

Hi all.

I've chartered a bus for 50+ Syracuse fans who are flying into New Orleans and visiting Baton Rogue for the day on September 23.

The booking is all taken care of. That said, I'd appreciate advice on best drop off / pick up point near the stadium. Where's the best place for a big group to be let off and picked up?

We're getting in 4 - 4.5 hours before kick to partake in pre-game festivities. Should I worry about traffic in that window?

Any advice you may have would be appreciated.

Thank you!
This is going to be a home and home. If you read the thread, the OP admitted that he got the dates wrong/screwed up the title. We're going to be in Baton Rouge on September 9, 2017.

And Florida hasn't played an OOC game outside of their home state since we steamrolled them at the Dome in 1991.

syracuse football?

Hey now. We've moved well beyond our lean years in the 2000s. We've had a few bowl games in a row and a real upswing in recruiting.

Oh, and we beat a 5-7 SEC team in 2012. So we got that going for us.

We're talking football.

And as much as some of you would like the game to be in NYC, we Cuse fans are sick of it. We've played USC, Penn State, and Notre Dame down there. We give up a home game to be outdrawn by opposing fan bases.

The Twitter buzz is saying this is finally a done deal, and you guys are coming to the Carrier Dome in September 2015. A return game will be played in Baton Rouge at an unnamed date. A formal announcement could be coming at a press conference this afternoon, where our new uniforms are also expected to be unveiled.

I cannot stress to you enough how excited we as Syracuse fans are for this- A big time opponent at home, not in NYC.
