And then you had Bianco get on in the 7th and no one pinch ran for him.
Ehh I don’t necessarily mind letting him run. He’s not as slow as everyone thinks he is.
But on the other hand. You’ve got a close game and Hampton is on the bench and doesn’t run for anyone. Wtf is that about?

Manieri is too self-absorbed to admit his lack of motivation. He should RETIRE soon!!!! He really seems to have a sense of entitlement. His syrupy BS has grown THIN!!

At first I was a little bit excited to see Bianco getting some playing time this year. Figured third year player, he's got some power. Let's see. But then the whole shortstop thing started. The fact that we even tried Bianco at shortstop on weekends is scary. Our infield defense is nowhere near what we've been used to since Paul has been here.
It will be the biggest weakness of this team.
Also, Bianco at the plate is like having a Jordan brother without the extra bonus of HBP bases.
ETA: Maybe I worded the part about the defense not being good poorly.
I meant that Mainieri usually puts a great defense on the field. Not this year.

Where do you people come up with this shite?

Honest question. How bad would this team be if we had a normal year in 2020 with our recruits playing their full senior seasons and the draft went on as normal?
The 2020 team would have won maybe 14-15 SEC games.
Thinking of a lineup without Crews, Drost, and Thompson this year is a scary thought.

You mean 3B?
Nah, I meant, if Bianco is removed as SS in favor of Arnold, who would take over as 2B until Doughty is back.

Doughty will me back tomorrow

I hope Paul goes stands in the infield.

Ah, didn't realize that. Good deal!

Where is he now?
Playing minor league baseball because he didn’t want to come back to LSU to be a DH.

Wow. Pail finally realized the obvious

And he got the steal signal
This boards obsession with the fact Bianco is slow and unathletic is so overblown. On the steal the catcher made a fantastic throw from his knees to the only spot where the fielder could have tagged Bianco and Bianco still may have even been safe anyway.
He has above average speed and is a decent defender at multiple positions. He just can’t hit at this level.

Wasn’t it a bunt and run? With Milazzo batting? Didn’t he struggle a few games ago bunting up by 5 runs?

Mikazzo missed bunt. I’m wondering if Bianco missed a sign. Saw steal when it was a bunt ?????

What’s it matter what CPM calls? You’re going to disagree with it anyway lol.

Fake bunt and steal I think. Head scratcher. I’m thinking you may see Thompson at SS tomorrow. Cranford needs an opportunity too.

If you’re talking about the play I think you’re talking about it really wasn’t that bad of a bunt. They were just running a wheel on the left side and it was played perfectly. If that bunt is played like 90% of the bunts in college baseball then it easily does it’s job.
In hindsight you can say he could’ve deadened the ball a little more or pushed it up the 1st baseline instead but that’s hindsight for you.
The other team is allowed to make plays too and they made one that time.

I think it’s a reflection of the shite lineup management yes. But the call itself wasn’t bad.

I can see this happening too maybe put Doughty at 3rd and keep Arnold at second.
Cranford is probably the best defensive option but I think you are giving up a lot on the offensive side. With Milazzo in the lineup you can’t really afford to have another defensive specialist out there.
