Does it really matter???? No matter how good he is, Miles has shown that the best doesnt always play. Its like he has the UAW running things over there by Seniority. He will be decent and when he is drafted again in a few years , even if its in the 11th round, He wont pass it up again because he will have rode the pine for 2 years after passing up big money. Im not saying he should start right now, Im just saying you could have the Reincarnation of Joe Montana and he would still be on the bench behind older subpar QBs

I wasnt just refering to our curent QB issue, He just happens to be A QB. My point was that Miles has shown that the better palyers seem to take a back seat to Older players on both sides of the ball in all poss.

Examples through Miles' 5 years?

really, How about in the start. Vincent over Broussard. Maybe i should refrase what i said, Maybe its more than class, He dosent play the better players at given possitions. He either tries to force something that is not there or keeps the non productive players in. Better example is the Shep situation from this past year. also see LSU-Ky 07

Im an idiot, Broussard missed 05 because of his knee. he played sparingly in 06 but when he was in he was great. My point is, and I dont really feel like starting an argument, that miles has a habit of not playing his better players. Anyone who watches LSU football, fans or not can agree. Ig Cap one Bowl

I think that is a case of perception becoming reality. That argument usually surfaces its ugly head around two and only two positions..........QB and RB.
Regarding the RB position it could easily be said Miles favors ball security, blocking and power running. What do the fans focus on? YPC and potential. Although I havent agreed with every decision, I can see the logic in them and dont simply chalk it up to favoritism.
Regarding the QB situation we had a choice 2 years ago, which two RS freshman with zero experience do we play vs. playing a true freshman who didnt have a grasp of the playbook (limited package for him) against SEC defenses. You could easily make the argument that when RP was out of the picture, they should have adjusted the game plan for bringing JJ along so he could contribute much earlier. THAT I can agree with. Hindsight is always 20/20 though.

The question should be; Chances Zach Lee leaves LSU for the Dodgers and not play at all football or baseball at LSU? 20%
Because he is already at LSU he does not have show up he's already there. The other question should be what chances are he plays this year for LSU, Baseball? 60%
Football? 20%

Dumb asses spotting this silly seniority bullshite.
This has been disproven time and again. It all goes back to the great Keiland v. Hester debate of 2007 when the Keilandites couldn't stand our riding 18 to the national title.
The reality is, every coach is going to play the more experienced players all else being equal. Experience matters. Miles is no different. But guys like Patrick Peterson and Rueben Randle who started as true freshmen blow this silliness out of the water.

As much as I would love to see another emerging 2 sport star at LSU...one that would possible lead us under center...you gotta consider this...
He is a pitcher that is 17-18 years old that throws in the mid 90's with a frame that will only get stronger...Wouldn't you think that the Dodgers researched just what it would take to sign him or else why would they waste a first round draft pick on him....
In other words...it's all about LEVERAGE...Lee is in a "win win"...he either has the opportunity of a lifetime to play a significant role on two teams that are both national powerhouses, or the opportunity of of a lifetime to pursue any kid's dream of playiing pro baseball...and oh btw BECOME A MILLIONAIRE OVERNIGHT! Hard to pass that last thing up...IMO
...not too many teams let their 1st round draft picks go...wish him the best either way..

Explain to me again why Rahim Alem was on the field last year??? What about RJ Jackson?? Why did Charles Scott only get 1 carry after halftime of KY 2007? What about Brett Helms? Care to explain Charles Alexander over Drake Nevis Josh Downs, etc.? Oh, Oh, here's another one what about Jarrett Lee most of Jefferson's Freshman year? Tell me again, why was Jacob Cutrera on the field again? Danny McCrae?

Dodgers drafted him with no intention of signing him. He was dead set on going to college that is why they drafted him. If they don't sign him then they will get better drafts next year. They know they can't afford to sign anyone in the first round draft this year... therefore he was the perfect choice.

thank you
someone has actually been paying attention to this story and knows: a) the dodger owner's financial situation and b) how the draft works
