Does anyone feel there's any chance he looks at coming back in 2020 if he's not graded as a first rounder in January?

I would typically expect him to go no matter what but him having another two years of eligibility could give him leverage either way.

If that's the case there's obviously no question.

The "first/second round grade or stay in school" rule of thumb for underclassmen or juniors, for whatever reason, does not apply at LSU. The rule of thumb for declaration for LSU football players seems to be "two legs, a dick, and a heartbeat". Having said that, I'm pretty sure in Chaisson's case he will be a top 10 projected pick by season's end, so I doubt there's much chance of him returning.

I hate that we only had jermey hill and trai turner for two years. You can now add Chaiison to the list after this year.

He’s the equivalent to Josh Smith.

Misses a year, comes back, dominates, leaves early and gets drafted high.

I think he absolutely has a chance to be a dominant pass rusher this year and end up a 1st round pick next year.

But he also has never really shown that he is a dominant pass rusher. Unreal speed and athleticism for the position, but has never even had the chance to show scouts his pass rushing moves. And is he still as fast and explosive after his injury? We will find out. Right now I'd say its like 70/30 that he goes pro/comes back

He also needs to show he can drop in coverage or play the run. Hope he blows up this season and can go pro if he wants.

He will leave if he’s graded as a 3rd rounder. The days of only leaving if you are a first rounder are long gone. There is simply just too much money to be made now and I don’t blame these kids one bit for hauling arse. The universities don’t commit to them for four years so why should they be expected to do the same is the way I look at it.

Especially if there is an injury again. He could become a huge red flag to any team if he had to recover twice from a ACL injury.

I highly doubt he comes back even if he doesnt have a huge season. After an injury like that, I'm taking my money and getting paid.

I hope he doesn't have an "injury" that limits his playing time towards the end of the year...it seems to be becoming a trend for some who are 1st round worthy

Yes, I was thinking that the rookie scale was going to temper some of that, but in reality the NFL is making so much money that this year kids got $1M+ signing bonuses halfway into the 3rd round. That is enticing for college players, especially in a physical big-boy conference like the SEC. Earn your stripes and get a decent first salary.
