Excuse me if this is Germans, but WTF is going on with Chad Jones? He's not going to start the game and he's a pre-season All American pick by several analyst? He may be the best pure athlete in the SEC with the possible exception of Percy Harvin. You will never convince me that Harry Coleman beat him out for his starting job. What's the deal?

He will see just as much PT as anyone else on defense. He just isn't listed as a starter.

You are worried about nothing. The coaches have defensive packages and Chad will be on the field the majority of snaps. Just settle down.

Chill out. LSU will be facing many a spread offense which will require Dime and Nickel packages. And who do you think will be the free range guy on the field doing both jobs of covering, blitzing, and helping out in run support? None other than Chad motherucking Jones.

now-a-days a nickle or dime defense is on the field more than the base 4-3 defense we run. Our base defense now is more conceivably a nickle defense.
Translation: Chad Jones will be on the field as much as the other starters, don't freak out. Not only that, but you weren't at practice everyday, you have no idea who beat out who

Why is it that people go crazy if a certain player isnt starting? There is no doubt, 100% CJones will play ALOT of plays, so whats the big deal if he plays the first few?

Jones will be on the field as much as HC. CJ just does not have a traditional position. I wouldn't be surprised if he was announced as a starter at "DB".

When Dan announces the starting line-up (which is our base defense) you will not hear Chad Jones. But on Appy's first offensive play, if LSU decides to be in a nickel, he will be on the field. So he may very well start.
