Drop it guys. This is not the place.

Let's keep it info-based only if possible.

But on a different note, please do not any of you kid yourselves into thinking this guy will ever play football again, IMHO.

It's just ridiculous at this point to make any kind of a statement as to what the future holds for him. All we can do at this point is pray for a full recovery.

Oh my, that is just horrible.

It makes you realize how close we all are to having tragedy hit us.

Y'all hug your loved ones and say a little prayer of thanks for your health and safety.

Prayers of healing for Chad, prayers to guide the hands and minds of the doctors and nurses, and prayers of comfort to his family, loved ones, and fans.

He'll be lucky to save the foot, probably lose the whole leg if they start cutting stuff off. Regardless, the way it is shattered and magled could only lead any honest person to the assumption it would be a miracle jsut to walk normally again.

I pray to the Lord Jesus Christ that I am wrong, but I truly belive he has played his last down of football in his life and I pray he is able to just plain walk again.

Anyone know if they are going to be able to save his foot? Any word on how the surgery is going?

I haven't heard anything. I wonder if they have consulted Dr. Andrews since he did go to LSU and he is a great surgeon.

Not that it really matters, but I'm just curious... who pays these medical bills? The Giants or the Jones family insurance.

I don't know the extent of his injuries, but vascular surgery requires the surgeon to be meticulous and delicate. There is not much room for error in these situations. Also, vessels and nerves follow a similar path, so if there is damage to an artery or vein, there is a good chance the nerve may be damaged too. All we can hope for is that the nerve remained intact.

On the bright side, he is in great physical shape, is young, and has the best surgeons and RNs providing him the best care anyone can receive. He is a part of the LSU family--we are going to do our best to heal our own!!!

Believe in Chad as we did so many times when he took the field, whether it was in Tiger stadium, The Box, Omaha, or the Jawja Dome. He will overcome this!

I wonder if he is at least insured after signing his NFL contract? It would be nice to know that he is still going to make a big payday no matter what happens.

It doesn't matter if it is or not. The guy is in no position to say so. He's not a doctor. He's not in the OR.

He might be right, but speculating is completely inappropriate at this time.
