Damn he's still in surgery?

No, if I'm reading correctly, he's in a second surgery. The first one saved his leg and now they're trying to save his foot.

I've only seen pictures of the vehicle and they are horrific. What's puzzling from afar is how the two passengers only received minor injuries which didn't require hospitalization. Prayers from CO Chad for a complete recovery.

Could be seatbelt, steering column, or the point of impact may have thrown him into the door or something pushed the structure of the door back. Could have been the way he braced himself if he did.

Lots of things come into play. The difference between being seriously hurt or walking away could be inches.

What a unfortunate tragedy. My thoughts and prayers will be with him and his family.

It looks like the impact was shaded a little more to the driver side. Combine that with the fact that it sounds like his feet went under the pedals and jammed... Force of impact just above ankles to mid-shin.

true story. my sister was wearing a seat belt and lost control of her car and ran off the road into a tree. the tow truck driver said when he got there he thought there was no way anyone could have survived the wreckage he saw. my sister had no injuries whatsoever. she's very lucky to be alive, but like you said, a matter of inches can be the difference b/t dying and walking away with scratches

Pray for Chad, he didn't deserve this.

But on a different note, please do not any of you kid yourselves into thinking this guy will ever play football again, IMHO.

He'll be lucky to save the foot, probably lose the whole leg if they start cutting stuff off. Regardless, the way it is shattered and magled could only lead any honest person to the assumption it would be a miracle jsut to walk normally again.

I pray to the Lord Jesus Christ that I am wrong, but I truly belive he has played his last down of football in his life and I pray he is able to just plain walk again.

Thanks to all for the responses and clarification. From the one picture I saw I couldn't see how anyone could walk away with only minor injuries.

I work in surgery and see miracles every day. Let's pray for a miracle. I hope to see him play football again and if he doesn't I hope he was heavily insured after signing his NFL contract.

God bless this kid and give him a miracle.
