That’s not one that bothers me even though I don’t use it.
It shortens “National Championship” from 7 syllables to 2 and is perfectly understandable what it means.

I think LSU will have a nice squad, but a majority will hinge on the play of Leavitt. The pressure of executing under Kiffin (my favorite coach), the weight of playing for LSU, and playing in the SEC week in and week out is "different".
