Comprehensive write-up by Fiutak

Step One: Come out roaring
Step Two: Brandon Harris has to be fine
Step Three: Leonard Fournette has to be the best player in college football
Step Four: Alabama
Step Five: It shows up against Arkansas
Step Six: Let the coaches be the coaches

What Are The Chances To Get To The Playoff?

Excellent. This is the nation’s best team coming into the season with the most NFL talent, the most high-end experience, one of the best coaching staffs, and after getting through the storm of last year, the pieces to put it all together and come up with an SEC championship.

There will be a blip along the way, whether it’s against Florida or Arkansas on the road, at home against Alabama, or in a strange week when everything goes wrong, but LSU doesn’t have to be perfect to get to the promised land.

11-1 is where the bar has to be set. 10-2 is more realistic, but this year even that would be a massive disappointment.

this sounds like every season?

i don't see that. this is the first time in a while a bulk of the talent is pretty much all together and we have experience.

and we've put together a tremendous coaching staff all around. coach O in just one season took LSU from bottom 3rd in the SEC in sacks.. to top 3 in the SEC in sacks.. now we add Aranda. the defensive talent is tremendous and finally experienced.. and the offensive talent is all experienced as well.

idk.. but yeah I get being skeptical until we prove we can win in November again.. but we have the making of something special this season.

some really top tier talent returned.. which is different from season's past where they would have gone pro.

top 10 will be good enough. Guice can play too.

harris is the key.

I've always put us at 11-1. It's hard as frick to go undefeated in the SECW now. I've always thought the SECW champs should flip flop year to year between LSU and Bama. These two teams consistently have the most talent. You can't always win when the talent levels are that close but you shouldn't always lose either.

Not really.

People can be optimistic in any fanbase, saints, cavaliers, red sox, cubs may join them.

Every year they had fans saying this is the year.

Step 6: don't let Les miles coach just be the motivator

"Let the coaches be the coaches."

Is this directed towards Miles?

2 loss season being a disappointment is unfair, but this is the bed Les and the staff has made for themselves with the past few seasons.

No, no you don't. LSU was preseason #14 last year, #13 in 2014, and #12 in 2013. The last time you heard this much hype was 2012 when we were #3 in the preseason poll and coming off a 13-1 season.

Winning National Titles is the end all be all. Competing for SEC and National Titles year in and year out is. And you can't be competing for titles playing in the Music City and Texas Bowl with a roster full of NFL talent.
