Why in modern CFB have the one foot in bounds and knee down without contact rules not changed to match the NFL game?

What legitimate reason can you give that it needs to change?

It’s a different game, perhaps?
I don’t want to ever take the lead from the nfl.

Maybe soon we will be able to fine players for helmet to helmet as well, instead of having our star players miss the first half of the Bama game.

One limits potential for explosive plays for an offense by merely slipping on grass with the D having no impact whatsoever in the outcome. The other seems plausible as the passing game has become more refined and more of an integral part of the college game. JMO

The games are more similar than they have ever been.

The NFL has adapted with the 2 pt rule and 15 yd interference penalty instead of spot foul.

i think that catch rule is good for amateur/college, but the offensive line being allowed to block 3 yards down the field during passing games is a crock of shite or at least needs to be enforced for the current level of expertise for these guys in the college game.

You can’t be serious asking the question.

I don’t mind the one foot down thing but I hate the “knee down” thing.

A player with the ball could be running wide open and trip himself up and he’s down even if a defender is nowhere near him.
Or a QB can be picking himself up from the ground using a fumbled football as leverage and then throw a game ending interception just to have it called back giving them another opportunity to score and force a 7 OT game.

That rule sucks.

Also, why is a place holder not down when kicking field goals or extra points?

Quite serious actually!! CEH has a break away in touched run/wheel route to the end zone against BAMA for the winning touchdown and suffers from self tackleization syndrome then it is game, set, and match with BAMA D having no impact on that play to prevent the touchdown once he breaks clear.

Or be like college where 7 OT periods where the D on both sides are gassed and put on a short field every time. At least the NFL forces the O to have to move the length of the field to get in scoring position. And now both teams have the potential to touch the ball in OT. I just rather the NFL version.

NFL OT sucks. Mahomes never got on the field in OT with a Super Bowl on the line last year.
Football game should never end in a tie.
