Right. I understand. I guess having three guys being held on the TD run is part of that. It is a good coaches job to evaluate everything and point out that which needs improvement. It is difficult to watch such a game without seeing how the officiating had its fingerprints all over it. Most of the people on here do not understand that the more discretionary authority the officials have, the more easily may the game be manipulated which this one was. Now let the self-righteous flail away.

Isn't this "Tell the truth Monday?" Well Coach O, the truth is, Aranda's defense held the #1 team in the country to 10 pts. We did not try rolling out Etling to change his launch point on pass plays while the OLine was getting blown up. The truth is, if it weren't for the defensive preparation, that game could have gone a lot worse

Defense also gave the offense the ball with great field position the entire game. They dominated Alabama.

Judging one sentence in a presser is pretty ridiculous without the whole transcript.

If its just a completely boneheaded fricking sentence.

Its not like they gave up 20 in the fourth quarter.

Its fricking dumb to say anything about the defense rather than, they played great, gave us every opportunity to win.

Wow he just fired himself and basically through aranda who held alabama to 10 points and beckwith who blew the tackle in the forth but had 16 total tackles under the bus. what a dick

The game almost seemed scripted to the 2012 game. Defense plays lights out for entire game but breaks down with defenders missing assignments or tackles when they otherwise played mistake free all game.

In the 2012 game though, our offense was on fire passing the ball and we were running it pretty well too. Miles could have ended the game by getting one 4th down conversion since Bama couldn't stop the clock, but we went for the FG instead and the rest is history.

I think people may be taking this out of perspective. Orgeron is a defensive coach so I believe he takes pride in the defense not giving up any points whatsoever and feels like there were a few tackles missed. I don't think it's a shot at Aranda or the players at all. I'm sure he also said and feels the offense could have done a lot more to help them.

Beckwith had missed tackles on a few of the big Alabama plays. He missed Scarborough and Hurts on 3rd and long. Probably what he is talking about.

It's tell the truth Monday. Tackles were missed

If the offense had scored 20 in every game we would be undefeated

no, the problem was MILES ran it 3 straight times into the box. Instead of letting mett throw it on 3 chances to ice the game. no 4th down conversion would have been needed.

True, but I hope he mentioned the CRUCIAL timeout that he missed on 3rd and 2 from Bama's 35 after we got the turnover and had the momentum in a 4th quarter, 0-0 tie. Taking that penalty (after we repeatedly struggled to get the plays in) at that time in the game when we could have used two plays to get a 1st down and possibly score the first points was a dagger. We got the penalty, Bama knew we were passing, they flew in and we had a sack/intentional grounding. We never threatened again. It's tell the truth Monday, so I hope he mentioned it because it was huge.

A big frick you for misleading people that didn't actually hear the press conference. He praised Aranda and the defense and then said that they didn't tackle and execute. There was nothing that he said that was out of line or offensive.

Lots of good replies, thanks. I think context is important. Still, as I was listening to the press conference, I was struck at the comment. I wonder if there is some friction between the two. After all, Aranda is getting a lot of pub as a potential head coach.

Clearly, one unit was prepared to win the game.

I mis-lead no one. He said it. I qualified the obligatory compliment to Aranda.

He needs to apologize to every LSU defensive player that played in that game Saturday night. You are not going to beat Bama when Bama has 20mins of time of possession in the 2nd half when the score going into the half is 0-0.

The defense did what it needed to do to beat Bama, they held Bama to 10pts when they have been scoring an average of 43pts per game. That is bullshite from BeBe and actually has me questioning whether he is the guy to lead LSU in the future.

We lost that game because of poor o-line play and poor QB play, plain and simple. The defense gave the offense 2 turnovers, one inside the 35yd line of Bama and they couldn't do shite!!!!
