Cecil was as talented a back as ever stepped foot on SEC football field. In the few games he participated in as a Tiger, he was as good as we ever had. It is a shame that he didn't have the mental capacity to keep it all together as he could have been an all pro tailback in the nfl if he had stayed out of trouble. Glad to see he is doing well and wish him the best. Though we ended up losing the game, he totally destroyed Auburn's D in 1997. They would dive on the ground to avoid tackling him. I never understood why we threw a forward pass in that game. Should have just fed the Diesel.

What a circus. I don't know who I think the bigger idiot is, Cecil for throwing away his life, the Florida judge who sentenced him to 15 years for breaking and entering (he didn't steal anything or expose himself in this case), or the nazi BRDA, Sue Bernie, who wanted to put him BACK in jail after serving 13 years. wow.
from Florida Dept Corrections website
"Violent offenders, on average, will serve 7.1 years in prison today, almost double the 3.6 years in prison 15 years ago.
Offenders who commit a Lewd Act on a Child, will spend 5.6 years in prison in FY 2003-2004, more than 2.5 times the average sentence of the all time low of 2.1 years in FY 1986-1987.
Armed Robbery offenders will serve an average of 10.1 years in prison under the current punishment policy compared to the twenty-five year low of 2.8 years sixteen years ago.
Burglary offenders will serve an average of 4.3 years in prison today, a 291% increase from the 1.1 average 16 years ago.
Drug offenders will serve 3.5 years in prison today compared to less than one year 15 years ago."
I'm starting to think all this talk about racism in our criminal justice system just might be true

For a few games at LSU, he looked better than any running back in COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY. The dude was scary fast and could run over, around or thru you. I hope he really does get his life together.
couldnt agree more, I still think he was the most talented RB i had seen since H Walker...

Didn't follow the case when it happened, but does anyone have any idea how he got 15 years for B&E/peeping? It's creepy as hell, but most people convicted of sexual assault don't get nearly that.
Worst lawyer ever? Bias in the system? More to the story?

Didn't he violate his probation with the second crime?

He starts school next month to become a licensed electrician.
Companies would have a tough time hiring him to go into houses....at least here in Texas anyway.

Nearly a third of the Texas workforce is now licensed or in a regulated industry," concluded a 2008 study by the Center for Effective Justice that counted more than 150 licensed occupations in Texas that have restrictions for criminal convictions. Specifics vary from occupation to occupation, and disqualifying crimes are supposed to be related to the job. Locksmiths must be felony-free for 10 years; barbers generally can't have recent drug convictions.
Either way, at least he is attempting to better himself so good luck to him

Hopefully all the women he molested and abused physically and emotionally have found happiness. Who gives a frick about this low life piece of rotten trash or his hopes and dreams.

I honestly don't know the details of his case/rap sheet. I didn't know about a first crime.

What might've been. That guy was the best high school player I have ever seen.

In short, if you do three bad things in a week when you're 18, you're likely to end up with a hell of a lot less time served than if you do one bad thing when you're 18, then another when you're 22 while you're still being punished for the one at 18, and then another when you're 28 while you're still being punished for the ones at 18 and 22.
But here's hoping his victims have moved on and they and he (and everyone else) find happiness.

there was a little more than I posted
the breaking and entering was actually a burglarly charge though he didn't take anything, he knew the girl from a gym and went into her house to 'watch her sleep'
prior, he was kicked of McNeese State for failing drug test(s)
prior he was caught twice I think while at LSU sneaking into girls apartments, taking his clothes of and masturbating while he watched them sleep, or something like that
so yes, he had prior convictions, but nothing even close to warrant a 15 year sentence...there may be more behind the story, like the Florida judge was a UF fan or the BRDA was a women's victims rights nut job who had been abused or something...I sure don't know...it does seem that everyone involved was a nut though
