This article's automatically a joke by putting OSU's OOC had a C- anyway, and I wouldn't give LSU a F, Troy's not too bad. I'd probably give it a D.

3. OHIO STATE

vs. Youngstown State
vs. Ohio
at USC
vs. Troy

Grade: C-

Give the Bucks some credit as well, as they are following up on their epic battles with Texas from 2005 and 2006 with a home-and-home series with USC. If not for OSU, the non-conference battles of the recent past would be much more boring. But the remainder of their non-Big Ten slate is pretty awful. And yet, keep in mind their struggling with lowly Akron last fall as well. This gives hope to OU and Troy.

ok so OSU plays ONE tuff OOC game, and if they win it they are a lock for the national championship. if they loose they still have a chance. LSU would take there schedule any day day of the week. y should we schedule a tuff OOC game, it doesnt make any sense. if OSU didnt schedule USC this year it would have been an embarrassing schedule. well, stil kinda is

I wasn't the one that started that "game", with him saying App St > Mich. I was just responding to it, by saying Mich > UF, because it's a stupid argument.

If we were an independent like N.D, what grade would our OOC schedule get?

1. You can't just grade one postion of the schedule. You have to grade the entire schedule. LSU will play 3 of the top 11 teams in the country against #1 UGA, #5 Florida and #11 Auburn.

If LSU wins the west, it will also have to probably play Florida or UGA again.

How many teams in America play that difficult a schedule?

I will put LSU's schedule against any team in the country. LSU will have a sufficient power rating.

2. Under the new BCS equation, the power rating makes up only 1/3 of total. 2/3's of the BCS equation is human polls. Unless you have a close tie, power ratings won't come into play.

3. I think LSU's ooc schedule is actually a blessing in disguise. LSU must get some playing time to 2 inexperienced qb's.

If LSU doesn't get the green light to go off with the qb's, we don't need to worry about national championships.

4. Recently, it is the teams with the easiest schedules that are being rewarded. It is a sad reality of the our current BCS.

Last year West Virginia and South Florida were almost placed into the National Championship game largely due to weak schedules. Ohio State was also rewarded for playing in a weak conference.

We run the table including the SEC championship and we go straight to the BCS Championship. Win that and we get another BCS ring. So frick em with their weak out of conference crap.

u got USC, and Wisconsin. 2 tuff games.

illinois is way overrated. theres an easy Win.

penn st & michigan wont even be ranked by the time you play them. michigan being in the preseason top 25 is garbage in my opinion. after they loose week 4&5 they'll be done.

I agree with the article especially in an even number year when LSU's SEC home schedule sucks. LSU should charge a reduced ticket price for lesser opponents. As a season ticket holder, I am tied of paying good money for low level opponents. Hopefully, the new AD will tear up the contract agreement with Tulane.

Good to see that you grasp the concept of OOC schedule.

no major programs play a tough ooc every year so get over yourself

Actually some do...OSU (with the exception of last year) always has a pretty good OOC schedule...USC is another program that comes to mind.

i said tosu wouldnt be laughing though bc of how they do against the sec.

Good one - very relevant to how shitty your OOC schedule is

Ok kiddies, I'm off to the Ohio State Fair - fun fun - so have fun bitching without me.

Why are Ohio State fans even on this board. I wouldnt have the nerve to post on the LSU board after just getting beat by LSU in the NC game.Do they understand the concept of getting that arse waxed 2 straight years by SEC teams in the BCS NC game?

Why is OOC Schedule even as issue to discuss for any team? Are those games the only ones that count? The real question is "How tough is a team's overall schedule?"

This is my opinion of the two schedules:

OSU:

One very tough game (at USC)
One difficult game (at Wisky)
Three challenging games (PSU, at MSU, at Illinois)
Two "potentially" challenging games (scUM, Purdue)
Five easy games (at NW, Minnesota, Troy, Ohio, YSU)

LSU:

Two very tough games (at UF, UGA)
One difficult game (at Auburn)
Two challenging games (at South Carolina, Bama)
Two "potentially" challenging games (at Arky, MSU)
Five easy games (Ole Miss, App St, Tulane, Troy, NTU)

I don't know about you, but I think that's a pretty fair assessment (based on now, obviously, this could change as the season goes on, as we find out more about the teams). So each team has the same amount of easy games, "potentially" challenging games, and difficult games. LSU has one more very tough game and OSU has one more challenging game. Based on this (which I know you'll disagree with, but oh well), LSU's schedule is a little more difficult, but not by a huge margin.

Is it so hard to place a grade on the Out of Conference schedule? Ours sucks arse and it is without a doubt a D at best. Bitching about other conferences, other teams, or bringing up our SEC schedule doesn't change the fact our out of conference sucks. Does it hurt your feelings to admit it? Any idiot can see our Out of Conference schedule sucks.
