I remember a lot of people bitching about Broadhead, but at least he had testicular fortitude...
Alleva could have the biggest marbles around, but he can't do a thing unless you want him to withdraw from the SEC so that all our games can be at night...

I was pretty upset this morning before I knew the whole story. I sent an e-mail to LSU athletics office and got this response:

Looking at the SEC schedules, it appears LSU will play 4-5 2:30 games on CBS.
10/2 - Tenn.
10/9 - Florida (possibly)
11/6 - Bama
11/20 - Ole Piss
11/27 - Arkansas
NONE AT NIGHT on CBS!

None of the kickoff times are official until at least two weeks before the game. Stop

That's why I said "IT APPEARS".
When looking at the schedules of all the SEC teams, IT APPEARS these will be the CBS games. Of course depending on how the season goes.

Thanks for providing quality insight that nobody else on this board has shared at all today. I'm so glad you mentioned it because it had not APPEARED to anyone else!

Calm down mr. unstable.
I really like road SEC games. I don't have to wait all day to watch the game.

Can you read??? It doesn't say it is going to be on CBS. It says it may be on CBS. However, I would say there is a 95% chance that Bama/Ark is the CBS game that day and LSU/WV is at night on ESPN.

This? means what? CBS has a tendency to pick bama very chnace it gets. ESPN would love to cut into the Big East market with LSU and West Va at bight. and I know we want them at night.

I don't care what time we play on road games, but we should play at night at home. I don't know how that makes me unstable

LSU tradition is night games. period. Let the road games be whenever but home is night

My reaction to all those LSU 3:30 game start times:

CBS would like to show a game that appeals to people outside of the Southeast. If Bama is in top 5, then there will be some nat'l interest in that game. However, the network wants to diversify the media markets in which it has high viewers #s. Why do you think the ND @ Navy game is shown whenever its Navy's home game? They want to boost ratings nationally. That's tough to do considering CBS only has a contract w/ 1 conference.

Yes with the Mr. Unstable part, then I made a comment unrelated to anything you posted.

CBS has only had one game a year in prime time. The last 3 years it has happend to be LSU-Florida. That will change this year.
Here's the bottom line: CBS is good becasue they give us money and exposure. CBS is bad because the games are in the day. That is the reality. We can't have it both ways.

Precisely. As long as we are in the SEC we are bound by the contracts they have with CBS & ESPN.
