You left out CEH’s ability to spin out of hits in the backfield. Which happened pretty often. Our skill players and play calling made that OL look better than it was. And there were also 3 guys in the group now in the League.

Ready to see the big nasty maulers back in P&G

I’m so damn excited to see LSU with a real CEO. Going to take me awhile to get use to not having a caricature as the HC any longer. No more playing with one arm tied behind their back. SEC fricked, LSU Aligned AF.

Move the frick on and quit bleeding out of your vag over Orgeron. It’s getting pathetic

as a former oline that gives me a boner baby!!!

I would take selfless 3 stars with chip on their shoulders and willing to work their asses off all day and twice on sunday over lazy 5 stars

Of course Selfless hard working 5 stars are best but rare as hell

CBK answer to O Linemen Question
quote:
BRIAN KELLY: You're looking at what their demeanor is. Playing that offensive line position requires a profile that I like to stick with. I'm not going to get into the specifics right now, but there's a demeanor, there's a profile. There's a brotherhood on that offensive line that we build, and that brotherhood is real. Those guys are selfless, and they are the backbone of any great offense that I've ever coached. If you have that kind of resume, sign up. We're looking for you. That's the starting point. When it comes to development, it's hard work. We're ready to take on those kind of young men that have those special qualities and are ready to really dig in and put in the time.

You can't answer that question any better than that. I am really starting to like Kelly

That is the old Parcell's model, that Belichick and Saban followed. The profile for a LT is a certain height, weight, arm length, ability to bend, etc. If the player does not meet the profile for a position, you don't sign him. Same for RG, LG, RT, center

They certainly got the trophy. Of all the accolades that the coaches and players got in 2019, the OLine winning that award was the biggest surprise. They played well as a group within the scheme we were running. But the scheme we were running put defenses so far on their heels they couldn't just expect pass rush to win outright. Too many weapons and mismatches to exploit, and a QB and coach good enough to see them.

2019 was Ensminger, Brady, Burrow, and Aranda. O did nothing but recruit Burrow and Brady which that's all the credit he gets. Rest of his job involved getting paid millions to clap his hand on the sidelines and imitate Pete Carrol.

Take Dellenger. Saturday night he got abused by #2. He was as overmatched as I can remember a lineman being in the course of a game.

To be fair, you’re talking about a true freshman OT lining up against a DE that’s likely to get drafted this year. We really shouldn’t have been in a position where Dellinger needed to play this year in the first place, but here we are.

Not only that, apparently Dellinger was playing with a torn labrum to boot.

Really shouldn't have been out there but they had absolutely nobody else by that point.

I like the “demeanor” part of the equation. Lot of guys have the size, strength, etc.
