Can you seriously justify keeping Nolan Cain?

He has one talented infielder coming in this recruiting class and has the base running intellect of a chimp.

Stop the madness.

Its not even a coaching issue. You shouldnt need a coach to tell you not to go too far down the line on a secondary

Whether you like Nolan Cain or not that base running mistake is on the player not the coach, especially at this level.

I’ve told y’all repeatedly he’s only safe because of his wife and her job in the athletic department

I feel this 100%, I would imagine he was told to be safe as well.

Ehhhhhhh

That's on Gio bro.

****Disclaimer!!! I've been the biggest advocate of Gio being in the lineup as there is. That was just a flat out frick him on his part.

It shouldn’t be necessary, but if it is, you damn well better make sure a young player knows

Buddy at game sitting behind FSU dugout. Gio was bouncing off on prior pitches . No one corrected him.

Nah.

You don't go to 3rd there and just get lucky. Catcher and 3rd baseman saw it a pitch or two before, but Cain didn't. That was preventable by Cain or Gio.

Exactly.

Coaches should be aware and be proactive there.. let alone should have base running instructions throughout the season.

He's still easily a better hitter than Hughes.

BS that's what he's there for. Cain was asleep at the switch.

Exactly. Cain could just tell him to stay on the bag

You're not going to get an argument out of me here.

Cain should have told Gio to take it easy on the secondary lead, but that's a flat out mental mistake there.
