re: Can you imagine how good this team would be with a good QB?

Yes, you and other idiots are hating on Lee...
Not a great game by him, but the WR's weren't great either, but they all did a good job under difficult circumstances.
Can you admit it?

I don't hate Lee. I'm thrilled we won and he protected the ball. I'm just not making it out to be something it wasn't.
He was adequate.
He was adequate.

How did he have a BAD game?? His STATS???? What do you consider a GOOd game JAKE???? 20-22 and 985 yds???? You again are missing the OTHER ELEMENTS that are involved in being a QB at a major college level.
Hey dumbass, if we won the game 45-38 would you say the defense had a good game or would you say the defense stunk and we won in spite of that?

how?
i'm calling his game what it was
he threw for a sub-50% completion rate and LESS than 100 yards. not 300 yards, not 200 yards, 100 yards.

In defense of tight end Chase Clement...On that first pass from Lee...Chase DID catch the ball...he was physically seperated from the ball by one hell of hit from the defender...I don't see many receiveres holding on to that ball...
as far as Lee's performance...He looks like he needs more reps...I think he will do just fine...
as far as the Crowton Haters...Maybe, just maybe...the reason why the offense looked more organized...was because Lee has a better understanding of what's going on out there...hmmmm
food for thought

You're love for Lee causes you to see criticism as "hate". Grow up.

This is a complete fabrication to protect your Lee-love.

the first and biggest point krags made after his hire was simplifying the offense to avoid those issues

mauck and flynn were good.
they ended up being good, yes... but before those seasons, and don't fricking kid yourself, no one had much confidence in either of those two.... they both also, incidentally, had very, VERY strong supporting cast and maneater defenses to rely on...
JR was the only "stud" really...

they were passers who had trouble some games, but they were capable of 300 yard games, too
sounds like someone else we know....

LSU hasn't won a NC in the modern era without a good Q
neither has Texas, Florida, USC, etc..... no one wins without having decent QB play... no one!

they were not game managers, like some try to spin
Matt Mauck is the quintessential embodiment of a game manager.... or unless you thought he was some stud who came in to the program hyped up and shite.... hell, most of us fans didn't even know he was on the roster til that year... and if you go the he started hitting his stride here, it wouldn't explain why he's now a fricking dentist instead of in the NFL.... if you look up "game manager" in the dictionary, you will see Mauck and his receding hairline right next to it...

This is such bullshite. Now you morons are giving Lee credit for the coaching staff getting the plays in the game on time? Lee had nothing to do with plays getting in on time. To his credit, Lee didn't turn the ball over. I was ecstatic about that. However, he looked like a freshman.....again....throwing off his back foot and rushing passes when no one was around him. Both of the quick passes to the TE were poorly thrown with one nearly resulting in an interception and one with the TE making a great catch to bring it in. We won the damn game thanks to our defense scoring and giving the offense a short field. You morons need to stop with the double standard. I dare one of you to go back and find any post where anyone says Jefferson did his job when the team got the win and he had similar stats to Lee last night. I'll save you the trouble....you won't find it. Lee has to play better and I hope that if he's put in that situation for the remainder of the season, he will but don't come on here and make like all of sudden everyone should be okay with ANY of our QB's going 10/22 for 98 yards in an entire game. If that's all he is capable of doing, I'd rather give Mett a chance.

As Charlie Hanigriff said this team finally has an identity that it's head coach has been after. Miles loves this Big Ten power style of football. Good defense with a power running game with play action mixed in. In order for it to work a QB with a big arm is needed to stretch the defense. JJ doesn't have the arm to threaten teams. Mett will end up being the best QB for Les's conservative system. I actually like this style of play if you have a good QB. It has served Bama well the last few years. It's what Les is most comfortable with.

You are stupid.
You are JUDGING Lee off of ONE game versus a Top-5 team under difficult circumstances.
He was good, not great, good...yet you are not calling him good, not even adequate, which means you think he was bad, now can you admit it?

With the type of athletes we recruit we don't need gimmicky, complicated offenses. Reminds me of when Tepper came in and took all of our athletic LBs and had them dropping and reading and reacting rather than just unleashing them on the QB. As soon as Saban was in we were back to a 4-3 and blitzing the shite out of the QB - it's that easy.

without a doubt. Need him to lead us on long drives like he did last year against UT and UF. CONSISTENTLY!

They are not even a top 30 defense. I can guarantee you that.

not at all. he was a gunslinger
he turned the ball over WAY too much to be a game manager. same with flynn

uh, he was the QB during the 2001 SEC title game, brah

Lee did what he nneded to do. Was he GREAT??/NO. Did he do a good enough job to lead the team down the feild before halftime for a score that changed the game??? Even after Oregon had a 16 playt scoring drive??? Did the O-line have confidence in LEE?? YES. Its way more than just about STATS.

Les made his call on who he trusted most with his style. Happenstance intervened.
