I said before the season our passing game needs improvement. Not just qb play. Our TE's& Wr need to improve. We can't drop passes in the 1st qt. And hope catches will be made later in the game.

Lee played great, how many passes were dropped or called back. You should have asked "How good would this team be if we didn't drop so many passes?" Idiot.

The numbers mean he completed 10 receptions on 22 attempts for 98 yards.

But let's cut the message board cutesy crap. I'm assuming we're all grown men here. I'm not verbally or otherwise frustrated. We're talking football; I'm making a point. At 45% completion, it's very hard for me to consider a performance "good" or "all I want" unless all completions were for huge gains or points. That wasn't the case.

Anything else?

It is more risky to throw on 3rd and long than 1st down when everybody knows you are going to run. I guess they didn't trust Jefferson either. It's just the philosophy. Again, it wins a lot of games but it won't make the QB look great.

I have to agree that Lee will have to improve to run the gauntlet when we enter SEC play, but watching Alabama, Auburn and Ole Miss yesterday, their QB's aren't that much better.

The defense will be able to carry us through Miss St., Auburn, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Florida. They should be able to contain West Virginia like Oregon. The Alabama game is just going to be a brutal game of smash mouth football.

It's like the twilight zone. I'm honestly convinced that I'll be calling it great by this time next week. They'll just keep hammering and hammering.

i think LSU fans honestly have just lowered expectations of offense and QB play b/c of 2008, 2009, and 2010

that he didn't have a good game
I think he can play better. And, I think he will. But, I AM happy with his performance yesterday. He managed the game well. He put the ball in the hands of his playmakers. AND, he had NO turnovers. That is MY kind of quarterback. I want a game manager. And, I think he did well.

No shite. 10 of 22 for 98 yards, and people are talking about the good QB play and how the WR's dropped soooo many passes. Well, most of those "dropped" passes were low, behind them, or they barely touched the ball. 3 legit drops from what I saw. All I can say about Lee was he did not throw an INT. Other than that, he was not tha great. Special teams and defense won this game. If some of these passes were more accurate, we would have won by 40 pts.

10/22... not entirely his fault... very easily could have been 15/22, which is "surgeon-like", but it's better...

sub-100... he could have ended up over 200 yds, if his receivers catch those passes....

the biggest numbers, you forgot, or omitted since they don't fit your side of the argument, is 0, 40, and 1

0 INT, 40 points scored, and 1 win vs. a Top five AQ conference favorite...

You have to excuse SFP. ALL he cares about is #'s. Nothing else matters. He doesn't understand the OTHER elements of the game that may factor in.

The recievers was a big part of the problem. Many times during the game JL put the ball where it needed to be. Open your eyes.

Damn good question and I can't wait to hear the non-answer.

Lee - 10/22 for 98 yards 1 TD, 0 Int = Lee played great.
Jefferson -10/22 for 98 yard 1 TD, 0 Int = Jefferson played like shite.

I've never seen any person on this board ever refer to 10/22 for 98 yards as playing great. I've seen hundreds of folks absolutely ripping Jefferson for having a similar game. Please tell me what the difference is.

Lowered to 45% completion percentages being great? Come on. That was pretty rare even for JJ and Lee in 10 and 08 respectively, and it was never considered great. I doubt JJ had that even once in 09.

did you ever stop to think how good this team could be if our receivers weren't so average?

we need wide outs and tight ends who can make plays and we need a nevis clone who can get to the qb.
