what "other" elements?

accuracy, esp on non-shot passes is a legit element

lee's ypa was horrible and his accuracy was shite. that is a bad, bad combo

the average pass that was dropped wasn't 20 yards, brah

correct, but not every play ends immediately where the ball is caught.... you like numbers... heard of YAC?

if your want is for LSU to magically get Peyton Manning somehow, sorry to tell you bud, it probably ain't gonna happen... we don't have a rich QB history... we just don't....

we've been playing for over 150 years and we've had like 6, maybe 7 good or great QBs...

but, the greatest thing is that our QBs that have won NC's, weren't considered good or great either... all they have to do is manage the game, don't turn it over, and make a play when your number is called... that's it!! we don't need Andrew Luck... would it be nice, sure... but we are so strong across the board that it more than makes up for the weakness there and he just needs to manage the game... if that's 10/22, 98 yds, 0 TD's, then that's what it is.... i'll take those stats and the win, than 400 yds, 3 TDs and a loss....

You should have asked "How good would this team be if we didn't drop so many passes?" Idiot.

Keep deluding yourself that there were that many dropped passes. As has already been pointed out a number of "drops" were WR/TEs getting a finger on a poorly thrown ball. I think the funny thing to come out of this game is the "dropped passes" meme.

Yes, there were two drops out of 12 incompletions.

And there were three inaccurate passes where our WR made good catches.

Lee didn't play "great". He did his JOB...he lead the team, made a few plays here and there, and didn't turn the ball over. He didn't have to be GREAT. He just had to do his job, which he did. You morons are so caught up in the number of yards a QB throws for as the sole measuring stick on how well he played.

How many times did we screw up getting the plays in, leading to delay of game? ZERO

How many INT's did the QB throw? ZERO

Credit the QB with those things.

I wasn't in the huddle, but I imagine Lee did a good job of leading the team, and they seem to be confident in him, meaning they will play harder/better. I would rather have all of that over 300 yards passing any day.

saban brought us some good QBs, dude

mauck, JR, Flynn...in a row

and this isn't a saban v miles thread, but we CAN do it. we JUST did it

weren't considered good or great either.

mauck and flynn were good. they were passers who had trouble some games, but they were capable of 300 yard games, too

they were not game managers, like some try to spin

LSU hasn't won a NC in the modern era without a good QB

that's their job, is it not?? not every pass is going to be picture perfect... sometimes you have to catch a pass that's a little high or low, or that you have to adjust to....

for me if it hits the hands, and is not acted upon by a defender, it should be caught, regardless....

The hate for Lee never ceases to amaze me...

The guy steps in to lead LSU to a victory under pressure(not of his making) and some of you still bitch...

You, Antonio Moss, and SFP are truly stupid.

Losing Perriloux really left the cupboard bare after Flynn graduated - we've struggled since. Also losing the kid last year to MLB was a blow.

Sure, but that doesn't mean the pass was accurate.

I'm just not getting the perception that we had a good passing game last night.

It was adequate.

Why do you think legit criticisms of Lee = hate. JJ is just as bad. I was just speculating on what the team could be with a good QB - not great, just good.

The Lee love never ceases to amaze me.

How did he have a BAD game?? His STATS???? What do you consider a GOOd game JAKE???? 20-22 and 985 yds???? You again are missing the OTHER ELEMENTS that are involved in being a QB at a major college level.

i consider that a wash with us getting mett. i don't think lee would be playing this year, either

a stroke of bad luck, then a stroke of good luck

quote:

we've struggled since

we've just missed out on QB evaluations, or we've been horrible in developing them. lee, JJ, garrett. hopefully that is changing

mett had a year under richt, so that should have laid a good foundation of fundamentals (say what you want about richt, but he can coach up QBs)

randall is a possibly exciting option in a few years. rivers is a project who will sit for a few

This LSU team with Davey, Mauck, JR or Flynn at QB would be unbeatable.
