re: Can you imagine how good this team would be with a good QB?

It could be if other things didn't fall into place. But I've said many times that it's adequate.
It is by no means "good" and a damn far sight from "great"; It's been called both many times today.
I don't think it was a good / great performance either.
Adequate, yes.
Why not sit back , enjoy the season and hope that Lee gets better and LSU will win it all this year.

I am asking you why you don't count the 1 TD and no INT when talking about JL numbers from last night game ???
That means nothing in isolation. He did not have a good game, he is not a good QB. As stated last night he was adequate at best. He's going to have to come through for us sometime this season - most likely Bama and last night just won't cut it - his numbers were not good.

Threw off his back foot huh? You do realize when they throw off their backfoot it usually causes the ball to float over the WR's head. How many balls were thrown over a receiver's head last night?
I saw him throw one off backfoot which was the one he floated out of bounds.
He also knew how to throw the ball to RR on the TD pass, JJ has been trying to figure that out for 3 years. Lee threw it to where RR was the only one able to catch it. Peyton Manning would not have completed but maybe 2 more passes if given the same play calls with the receivers not coming down with the ball like they did.
He missed on about 3 passes, one to Ford that was thrown to outside not inside, one that was thrown to Peterson's back shoulder but still got his hand on it, and one that was slightly behind Clement on the left hand side the first or second drive of game that he was able to get both hands on. Maybe one other bad play from Lee but not a bad throw on the deep route thrown to Reuben on Lee's left, but that was miscommunication, either RR ran the wrong route or Lee threw for the wrong route.
I saw some OU receivers last night make a couple catches that were thrown behind them so it's not impossible to make up for a minor error by your QB sometimes. Get your hands on it, you catch it unless it is knocked out of your hand.
A completion takes more than just a QB,
Yes Lee did not play great, he did exactly what he was suppose to do, play good. He was not given the play calls and was not needed to play great.

On everything I love, I'm with you. Don't let my posts convince you otherwise. I just don't see the need to create fantasies. In all likelihood, we're all in with Lee. Why wouldn't I want him to do well?

Yes.

Go play nintendo dude! Stats do not mean everything, the most important last night were time of possesion and turnovers, that's the LSU style of football and has been the last 10 years, wake up. Yes we've had good offenses but what has been the most consistent, managing game on offense and great defense.
He had a good game, exactly what Miles and his OC wanted. But I guess you know more about football than they do. Could he have played better, yes but so could every football player that ever stepped on the field. Every play was not perfect but the results of the game overall was perfect, they scored more than their opponent!

This...8 days ago this kid was just a backup QB who was then thrust into the position of leading his team in the biggest game of the day nationally. I can't imagine the pressure that he had when you consider the lead up to this point in his career. I think he did fine with what he had been dealt and I for one see him improving each week now knowing what's expected of him.

I don't think you can say this by some of the comments in this thread!

10/22 for 98 yds, 1 TD and no INT is a bad game to you ???
yes!
Its not bad, but not great. AGAIN there is more than stats involved. But You are just not able to grasp this.

This thread is really awesome
I sure as frick hope the coaches want a helluva lot better than 10/22. We won the game in spite of the QB play, not because of it, why is that so hard to grasp. Stats in and of themselves are not everything, but if you think LSU will win the NC if the QB goes 10/22 for 98 1 0 in every game vs ranked teams you are delusional.
