i agree that would mean that the best two teams would not play...if its the best two teams then last year they got it right,my argument last year was even though bama was the best team other than lsu at the time, they should not have gotten a rematch.so imo if lsu wins out and wins the seccg, they will be better than any undefeated team out there.

If it had anything to do with team accomplishments last season Bama would not have been in the game. I believe that was the point of the comment.

So controlling destiny is true for sec.
My prediction is we will lose to Bama and State.
I'll see you guys at the chicken game in the atl. Started out #1 and ended at the chick filet bowl. Oh well,'that's football. 9-3 isn't bad.

Agreed. Press is fed up w/ SEC dominance and is looking for an excuse to put someone else in. They'd love an Ore/ND/KSU title game where the 1 loss SEC team, even though having played a far superior schedule, is left out. They will find a way to put in those undefeateds ahead of Bama/LSU/Fla/Geo

Panic much? Let's see how the rest of the season plays out. We just need to focus on what we can control which are the teams we play.

Funny how many folks assume we're going to beat Bama.

The point is relative to controlling our own destiny. Within the SEC, we clearly do. In the BCS, we do not.

BCS hypotheticals kinda depend on it.

USC doesn't leave SoCal again. Both Oregon and Notre Dame are at the Coliseum. That helps some.

There's no bullshite at all here.
The SEC is the strongest conference and anyone finishing with 1 loss played basically the best competition in the country most of the season.

Where's the bullshite there?

No shite Sherlock. We need USC, Oregon State, or Oklahoma State's help. LSU needs to take care of their own business. Ala. looks awesome. We'll need a complete game from all phases to win.

Why do so many obsess over the BCS game? Nobody truly controls their BCS destiny. It's an outcome that is controlled by a poll that is created by tons of outside factors.

The only championship that anyone controls their destiny for is the conference championship. You either get there and win on your merits or you don't. No human polls. No computer polls. Just either winning your way in or not.

And frankly, the conference championship is the one I care about most anyway. I don't care about bragging rights over Oregon fans or K-State fans or whomever. I care about bragging rights over UF, UGA, Alabama, AU, Arky, UT & etc. way more than I care about bragging rights over Notre Dame grads.

If K-State, Notre Dame and Oregon remain unbeaten, or if any two remain unbeaten, the only SEC team currently with a chance of playing in the BCS national championship game is Alabama.

Time for all to become huge USC fans.
