Apparently, you've been living under a rock. The consistent theme here and in the media has been that LSU is pretty much in control of its own destiny to get to the BCS title game. It was bullshite when they first started saying it, and it's bullshite now.

As a one loss team you can't bank on making it to the BCS game. Some things will have to go our way. If we go undefeated for the rest of the year I would expect it to be a tossup whether or not we're in.

Which is exactly what I'm saying. Many others, particularly on this board, have been saying otherwise.

Yes. That's never been in dispute. What has been in dispute is that LSU, after the loss to Florida, was still in control of its own destiny to get to the NC game. We aren't and never were.

Why is this so difficult to understand?

It's not. So far, you and one other poster above are the only ones who are having trouble understanding anything.

Why are LSU fans such defeatists?

Huh? It's "defeatist" to say that two of ND, K-State and Oregon have to lose before a one-loss team has a chance to get into the NC game? It's simply a fact.

How many have we won in a row now? 5?

You're upset that any team the nation could put in there would get stomped by the SEC

Let's cross that bridge when we get there. If we win out, then we can worry about the other teams.

6 actually. A one loss SEC champion (if that is the case) will get heavy consideration given the SEC owns CFB right now.

The winner of the SEC will be in the title game. OR would be left out .

Not this year, not with 1 loss.

What happens to the "best two teams" being in the title game argument from last year?

last year had bama and OK with equal records. Bama would not have gotten in if OK St had remained undefeated. LSU would not pass an undefeated ND, Oregon or Kstate

Not if the human polls have Oregon as #1 and ND as #2. The #1 spot is a lock and the computers can't override it... thank USC for that one. After that we don't have enough to take over Notre Dame at #2.

This thread is worthless.........

KState is losing to Okie State next week. Weeden is coming back and will throw for 8 TDs.

Then Leinart will be back Nov. 24 to slaughter Notre Dame and end its title hopes with a 49 of 69 for 669 yards performance and a three-way with Kristen Cavelleri.

Book it

These threads are going to be really annoying the next few weeks if LSU beats Alabama.

Every year everybody worries about this scenario and 90% of the time it takes care of itself, IE there is rarely 3 undefeated teams. I think a 1 loss champion has a good shot at getting in if there are two undefeateds, but not 3. Especially because 2 of those 3 potential undefeateds, K State and ND, don't play a champ game, so that benefits the SEC which gets the extra game for the computers, plus will be ranked 3rd right behind the 2nd undefeated.

Not to mention we play Alabama next week so all this talk is pretty retarded until next Sunday.

With Oregon, K-State and Notre Dame all looking very possibly undefeated, we are not in control of our own destiny.

Okie Lite is the the only team left on K-State's schedule who can beat them. I don't see Oregon losing, unless they slip up against Oregon State, and USC is the only team that Notre Dame has left that might beat them.

If Bama, Oregon, K-State, and Notre Dame all finish the season undefeated, I wouldn't be surprised to see a push for a Bama versus ND championship game. The media would market it as a battle of college football's most storied programs, even though ND hasn't been relevant in over a decade. It would be ND's "return to glory" or some such bullshite.

Call me crazy but I still think the SEC champ gets in. Two of those teams will blow it.

Our strength of schedule will be ridiculous and beating all these great teams including Bama with one road loss to Florida early in the season. Including an extra SEC championship victory against a top 10 one loss Georgia. I think that would do it. If we can get in with 2 losses we can do it with 1.
