Per Jake and T-Bob he has been cleared to play. I don't think he can get a medical redshirt if doctors already cleared him this early on regardless of the games he's choosing to sit out. Maybe we'll see CBK do him a favor and go somewhere else if that's what ends up happening. We've proven we don't need him on the field and at this point we would be better off developing guys who have been in the starting rotation.

Is it possible to figuratively have a double hernia surgery?

So Hilton is out for the season now? Or did he mean to say this week?

Although I 100% think Hilton never plays a down this year

Seems like a misprint, because no other LSU media is reporting that.

We're definitely saving him for the Secret Playbook which we haven't needed yet.

Did someone find Ed O’s binder at the athletic facilities?

The story I received from someone somewhat connected to the situation.

Original diagnosis was a bone bruise before the USC game and was thought to be out a few weeks.

Issue/pain persisted after a few weeks and it was discovered that there was a stress fracture.

Reading the tea leaves here. Looks like typical recovery time for a stress fracture can be 8-12 weeks. If it happened right around the USC game, he's at week 8 of the recovery now. I look for him to be back for Bama.

Just write him off. If he plays one day, great and hope he does well. But at this point, totally unreliable to even step on the field.

He was initially diagnosed with a bone bruise, but they've since learned it is a stress fracture. At least that's what the latest info is. Could be wrong, but it makes sense.

For those saying 'back in the day' when they were injured... - that is not germane and basically- Who gives a shite.

Actually it’s quite germane, it illustrates how soft some players are today in the age of college professors wearing safety pins for students who are unable to manage the”rigors” of day-to-day life in a bubble. Adam Walsh broke both hands in the famous 1924 Army-Notre Dame football game at the Polo Grounds, the game Grantland Rice immortalized with his “Four Horsemen” column afterwards. Walsh played Center and defense. He played the entire game.
And we all know about Jack Youngblood playing in the Super Bowl with a leg fracture (fibula IIRC, a non-weight bearing bone, but I am sure hurt like hell when he got hit). Similarly Rickey Jackson playing 2 weeks after sustaining a significant facial fracture (I suspect any impact to his helmet didn’t feel good).
As far as Hilton’s case specifically with respect to impact on the Tigers, I agree, who gives a bleep.
