WTF is it with you and Peveto? Geeze man!

The point I'm making for the last time, is that Orgeron is being written off by so many of you before this magic search begins.

My plea falling on deaf ears ( not usual around here) is that the fans get behind the CURRENT LSU coach.

And unless he ends up winning the SEC this year, he should be written off. This wouldn't be an audition for any other coach on this staff - yet you keep giving Orgeron special treatment.

Your refusal to even acknowledge my argument is suggestive of the fact that you can't actually refute it.

I'm behind the team and Orgeron 100%. But unless this team wins the SEC this year, LSU should be looking elsewhere for a head coach.

This is the reality. Whether people like it or not, this is the mindset of the administration as well, IMO.

I only read the first page, but the discussion leads me to believe some of you think the decision process will be based on a number alone- if he wins X games out of 8, he will be hired as full time head coach. Folks, this isn't an audition and there are no benchmarks.

It's reasonable to assume Coach O might get serious consideration as a candidate if LSU finishes with a good W-L record (and does so in improved and impressive fashion), but neither he nor fans should think there's a benchmark. It's not that simple. If that's LSU's mentality then they're selling us short.

By contrast, an opposite (but equally lazy) approach is hiring a team of third party consultants to conduct the search. Wouldn't surprise me if that's how we found Alleva.

What u can't seem to understand is that we can compartmentalize the 2. We are behind O making it as difficult a decision for Aleva as possible. We just feel that in the end, he will still come up short. I don't understand what the problem is. O runs the table, job is his. Short of that, I don't think he gets it. Could be wrong. But that has zero to do with "getting behind him"

Let's make this easy.

If O was a good target we didn't have to go through the hoopla of Jimbo at the end of the last year. If he was worthy of a head coaching position, last November should have been MUCH simpler. And if people were going to love him, then why weren't they clamoring for him over Miles last year? No single LSU fan has wanted O as coach until this past week. Why is that?

The only way he should be considered is if he wins out, and only then if Herman or Jimbo or another high value target like Kelly, say no. Then, he's worth a shot.

Ok you win. Nobody wants Peveto to be the next head coach. Now will you give up on referencing him?

Actually I can't agree. Other than going undefeated, no record should guarantee O the job. You simply don't pass up Herman or another marquee coach for a guy who was a disaster at Ole Miss and has a losing record as a HC.

Easy isn't always right but I'll play along.

If we are to believe the rumors the only, get it ONLY, candidate to replace Miles was Fisher. There was no evaluation of other prospects, no "search committee" nothing. No one else was even considered it was Fisher love fest. So your premise is false here.

O is here now. O has delivered an impressive win. Prior to this week O was never in the equation. He is now. Or should be. If he shows that he can win in the SEC west why the angst?
Has either Fisher (HC) or Herman demonstrated that?

Then, you are going to be very disappointed because Herman is not going to be the next coach.

I wonder how Joe will frick up this hire.

USC, LSU, and Texas may all have coaching openings. LSU is going to have competition.

What if your wonder boys come in and we have a losing record next year? Should we fire them too?

That's such a lie, it's laughable

What the administration should be looking for is a coach that can put up solid numbers, get major wins, keep the players excited, keep new talent coming in, and most importantly keep the fans happy. You're already wanting to get rid of a coach who did the last three in 5 days

What does Coach O beating Mizzou have to do with him building and maintaining a strong program?

I agree a strong finish works in Coach O's favor but seems silly to give him the job just because of 2 months of work. He should have to interview and interview well just like any other candidate.
