Can we agree that Miles is the greatest LSU football coach...ever?

If Les can avoid a mishap the rest of the way and wins another Crystal Football, there is no debate: Les Miles will be in the record book as the greatest football coach in LSU History. No other coach whoever walked the sidelines in Tiger Stadium will have "Coached Two National Championship Teams" next to his name...not Nick Saban, not Paul Dietzel, and certainly not "Cholly Mac".
I tend to believe Miles, even without another BCS trophy in the case, still deserves that recognition. Les Miles, that quirky grass eaten guy, just did tonight what McClendon could never do, he beat the myth and reputation that Bama could not be beaten when the Tide was at their best.
I hope the true impact of the win tonight doesn't get lost in all of the defensive stats and crying by Bama fans over missed field goals; the real impact of this game is that LSU is no longer the "Little Brother" in the SEC and Les Miles isn't wearing any more "hand me downs" from Saban.
This win was a season changer for the players; this win was a career changer for Miles; this win was a program changer for the fans.
You can't rewrite history; you can create it.

If he goes undefeated and wins the NC, how can you argue that he isn't?

He's already the best in my book.

If he goes 14-0 this season and win the national title, yes, the very best. Also, he beat Saban in Saban's 4th and 5th years at Alabama! He beat Saban because Miles' recruites beat Saban's recruits!

One of the questions on TV last night was which LSU coaches have beaten Bama 4 times.
Answer: Saban & Miles
Now Miles has beaten Bama 5 times.

I like the way you put that.

The Greatest Coach ever...better than The Bear

settle down...Les is the only LSU coach to inherit National Championship caliber players.
Nick built it. Therefore, he gets my vote for "greatest" ever. Harder to 'build' than to 'maintain'
And yes, Les has done an outstanding job. I would make him the highest paid in the nation. He's worth every cent.

Most of the pundits say this, but backwards.

Well, you had to figure a few stragglers would have a hard-on for Saban I give you credit for admitting it
