I’m still trying to figure out how this lineup can enter the last game of the regular season with a chance to win the conference title,, facing a worn down pitching staff, and only came way with 5 runs on 7 hits.

shite happens, they played terrible. I never took you as one to be melting the way you are solely over one game.

Edit: With this being said there are defensive liabilities I think they need to clean up by next weekend. The bullpen is self explanatory.

I’ve been fine with Jones at first and Morgan in LF when Jones was hitting. But he’s lost his spot in the lineup, and now that Pearson may have taken over one of the 9 spots in the batting lineup, there is no need to keep Morgan in LF.

It’s not a one game melt. It’s a 3 week melt. We finished 3-5 in our last 8 SEC games, with two series against the 12th and 13th teams in the SEC.

I’m not saying it’s a certainty but they have a chance to right the ship. Agree?

our last 8 SEC games

Why would you pick 8 games when a series is 3? The obvious choice would be the last 9 games.

For all of you whining and miserable about not winning the regular season SEC, you look at the 2011 football season as a resounding success, right?

Because after Auburn threw a bullpen guy against Skenes (and we mashed them for 3 runs that night) we only needed to win 4 of our last 8 games to win the SEC title. That task was too much for this team.

All of those who said they’d be “disappointed” in this season if we don’t get to 20, still feel the same way? Bye in the SECT and a top 8 lock.
Im still disappointed. One of the teams goals was to win the SEC title and they came up one win short. I’m sure the team was disappointed and it’s always exciting to win a title.

Had several opportunities down the stretch to clinch it. just needed to win series against crappy MSU, blew a 9-run lead in the next game, and then a L on the final day of the season with the title on the line.

Hope it adds fuel to the fire for a postseason run but don’t know why it can’t be considered disappointing to miss out on adding another accolade when it was right there for the taking.

Yes, the 2011 football team had a GREAT season. The ending was an all time frustrating finish, but I had a blast in Tiger Stadium that season. Undefeated regular season and SEC champs. Even though they didn’t win it all, they did accomplish great things.

If this 2023 LSU baseball doesn’t win the national title, what will we have to celebrate?
