Very slightly.

He should have made the catch, but to act like that pass was not severely under-thrown is laughable.

Under thrown? Yes. Severely? Absolutely not. Severely under-thrown would be having to come to a complete stop or not able to make a play on it. Hilton barely slowed down. That’s not severely under-thrown.

The ball hit him right in the hands. He has to catch that. What good is to run past DBs if you can’t catch the damn ball?

Dude needs to be like WR5. I'd like to see them give Watkins a try at those post and go routes.

Isn’t that basically where he is? Why pile it on?

The fact that people are defending by saying the ball was under thrown is all you need to know about the temperature of the rant regarding Nuss.

It hit him in the freaking hands. He’s a WR. It’s his job to catch it. It was on the numbers. That was terrible drop. Inexcusable!

I haven't seen him get any significant separation yet.
When Anderson comes back, give Parker all CH reps.
He had his chance

Your view and my view of a severely under thrown ball are two totally different things. The deep ball thrown to a wide open Barion Brown against La.Tech that was so under thrown it was intercepted by the corner that was beaten by about 4 steps. That is severely under thrown.

The pass to Hilton Saturday night was nowhere close to that bad.

I feel bad for him. It's all mental. It's all between the ears for him. I hope he can figure it out because this is his last chance and season, but in the mean time, we shouldn't waste downs on a 15th dropped deep pass. Nuss already is pretty bad at deep balls as it is.

Barion Brown should get every deep ball. Remember the Clemson called back TD? 0 reason to throw to Hilton deep, go to Brown.

I don't trust that. We have 0 room for error as is and to go experimenting. Barion Brown is the answer. He's just as fast as them, and he showed he can catch the deep ball vs Clemson when he made that fantastic called back catch.

He’s just a situational player.

By situational, I mean that if you get him wide open with no defender even close enough to distract him, and then you pair that with a perfect throw that hits him totally in stride…

…he morphs into an explosive threat! They just have to scheme him such that the defense totally busts his coverage while a JUGS machine stands tall in the pocket and fires a perfect pass his way and then watch him streak into the endzone for easy points!

He’s never been a very good receiver. I wouldn’t waste plays on him.

His stats aren't good and he has a lot of drops but to be fair, he is effective at stretching the field. Even with the drops, there have been several drive extending DPI penalties when we threw to him and the big drop from Saturday night should have been another DPI penalty in my opinion. But he still should have caught that ball.
I have been fairly patient with him so far but his drops are becoming more and more frustrating. Him and Nuss are both seniors making freshman mistakes and at this point it's ridiculous.

Years ago, the Saints drafted a track guy out of Purdue in the first round, Larry Porter. Ol’ Stone Hands ended up being his nickname.

I remember him. And like the poster above said, his last name was Burton. He would get open deep and drop the sure TD pass about 3 out of 4 times.

I have and so have you. He got significant separation on the play being discussed. He would have caught it over a yard in the clear if the pass was perfect. The pass was good; he should have caught it; and even then he was separated enough that the defender had no shot at a ball Hilton had to slow down for.

There have been a couple of balls this year in which Hilton had even more separation, but Nuss could not get the ball there due to his injury. Hilton is getting separation, he just can’t make the plays.
