His highlights are pretty good too. The catch at Bama was awesome. The td in the natty. He has some of the best hands in college football. I think the knock is his speed.

After finally having a full, healthy season, it was an absolute no-brainer to leave this year. He’s not getting taller or faster, why in the world risk getting hurt and being another year older to start his career?

This basically. His production was never going to be better next year (given no Burrow) too. His stock was never going to get higher. If he’s a sixth round guy this year, maybe he rises to, at best, a fifth round guy next year. On the other hand maybe he falls to UDFA with another injury or bad year. Who knows? Coming back isn’t a risk free proposition.

So why come back and tear your body up more for free with limited upside and potential downside?

Plus his dad is still Randy Moss, it isn’t as if he is going to starve on the street any time soon. Go take your shot, he’ll either make it or he won’t.

I would bet money he ends up with Burrow at the Bengals. These late round picks are so hit or miss, might as well get your new QB someone familiar.

Docs found a Jones fracture in his foot at the combine...that’s why he’s dropping.

Don’t think he wants to try to compete with true freshman TE Arik Gilbert coming in. Might be why he chose to declare anyway. Down vote away!

Then why the frick didn’t LSU coaches tell him to come back and that if he didn’t, FCS TEs would be picked over him?

Daddy Randy, that’s why.

Who was the other player who had the same fracture discovered at the combine? I can't remember who it was, but it seems like it was a well-known player.

Uhh... what freaking games were you watching? The freshman (Arik Gilbert) coming in is projected by EVERYBODY as a starter. Scouts, recruiters, coaches from everywhere say he may be “the best football player in this ENTIRE COLLEGE FOOTBALL RECRUITING CLASS!” 6’5”, 250 pounds, 4.9 sec 40, can play wide receiver, OR tight end. Nightmare matchup for ANY college linebacker.
