That’s a pussified way of looking at it. Maybe if the weak minded people would stand up and see this for what it is then we could move past this.

The articles about the number of ICU beds in your area are fake news. There were articles just like those in Texas and Florida that were debunked....by the doctors and nurses who work in those hospitals. Hospitals DO NOT have a set number of ICU beds. Each hospital "prepares" only the number of ICU beds they think they will need that week/month (because of cost). ICU's (prior to CoVid) routinely run up to their "prepared" capacity all the time. It is normal and has nothing to do with CoVid.

Capacity and personnel have a lot to do with what a hospital can handle. My wife is a nurse here and she explained that it has to do with the amount of nurses they have employed. Keep in mind there has never really been enough nurses.

There have been over 20 people at the place I work test positive and not one spent a single day in the hospital, all had very mild symptoms.

And also keep in mind the layoffs they made when things were starting to look better after the May spike.

They did this to themselves.

We are seeing a surge of patients right now. The ICUs are filling up with plans to expand them. That is just an FYI.

I am still in favor of having football.

Cancelling football will not make them any safer. They'll have more free time to run the roads, party, chase girls, etc. Now, that may happen anyway while playing football but at least there would be a structured environment to put pressure on them not to do so.

And they won't have access to the team's medical staff if they return home to do online classes.

People are dying

No, there is (right now as we speak) a DECLINE in overall deaths for US citizens under the age of 25 (compared to the last four years).
Quit watching MSNBC.

my niece came down with covid-19it was like a bad cold she was over in 5 days either my sister or her husband caught it.

I also know two other people that signed up for the free testing the wait line was too long they left, never got tested and then received notices that they had tested positive.

I agree with the point of your post, I think you're getting DV's because your stats show COVID deaths higher than the flu.

What would those numbers look like if we backed out the deaths of terminally ill, morbidly obese, compromised immunity?

Point being that reported COVID deaths aren't really caused by COVID in many cases. Hospitals are incentivized to code cases to covid.

That’s not how I’m looking at it but don’t stick your head in the sand, it’s going on all around you. I quit watching or reading news a couple months ago but I’m the exception, not the rule. People are overwhelmingly convinced and the media has raised hysteria cementing it home. Just look at every industry in the world that deals with travel. Dead as a hammer.

Cry pussy all you want but it will be a faint voice being drowned out in a packed stadium. No amount of screaming or reasoning can change what’s happened and what will happen. Regardless of the actual severity an atomic bomb of Orwellian proportions has been dropped on the world turning this into a generational event. Many things will change for years, many will change forever.

Great point! They'll be going back home and hanging with their buds out of sheer boredom. That's when the risk of spreading is at its worst, actually.

Yep. Posted similar in a mod-deleted thread yesterday:

- Controlled environment with defined number of people coming in contact with vs. hanging with other people also with nothing to do and visiting Wal Mart.

- A training table where you do not have to go to grocery stores vs. stock and supply that increases risk of exposure

- training in facilities that have access to industrialized disinfectant and controlled access vs. local gym (if open) or other facilities without limiting factors.

- a prescribed testing regime (for free) vs. if you feel sick or feel like it go get tested (and wait in line with a bunch of other people).

- 24/7 access to school medical staff vs. going it alone

- A school and it's resources with a vested interest in minimizing your exposure with something to do vs. Moms doing the best she can with limited resources. Mom probably cares more, but the school does have that interest in keeping you healthy.
