His interest in LSU never seemed legitimate.

IF Pete Jenkins would not have retired because of Saban getting in his face - LSU would have got him!!!!!!!!!

Ok Joe was seriously Interested in Signing with LSU, his biggest obstacle was Ryan Perriloux. Most people do not know that Rayan Attended Curtis until the end of his 8th Grade year. I do not really know what the deal was between Joe and Ryan. Also Alabama came hard at Joe because Saban had just gotten hired And I know Two of the Curtis Coaches were offered Jobs on Saban’s first Staff But I hope this clarifies for all and to be honest I’m happy Joe went to USC because I fell Les would have moved him to the Secondary #FlyHigh4

I forgot Ryan was at Curtis during middle school. I remember Saban tried to hire J.T. Curtis while he was at LSU and when he got to Bama. I always had the vibe that J.T. didnt like LSU

JT sent plenty of players to LSU also the deal with him when it comes to recruiting is he lets the kids and their families decide but he expects his players to honor that commitment but I know some Coaches and their programs have rubbed him the wrong way. He has two former assistants on the Staff now. His eldest granddaughter worked in the Football Ops department. AND he is best friends with Pete Jenkins and from what I understand he has a good relationship with O Now Les I always saw tension.

Because he couldn’t run between the tackles so just like Reggie he had to go to a conference That had a bad defense so that could out run people to the outside.

to bad for Joe, Miles was right, had much more talent as a DB than a RB and could have had a good NFL career as a DB

Due to the upvote to downvote ratio of this entire thread, its been deemed the most positive thread of all time. Not one super dumb comment yet to get downvoted to hell. But wait...

What if this is it?

Edit: Ah beans. I knew I shoulda read page 2 before posting.

You know its funny, I noticed how he was a sideliner and scared of hits in the NFL. Didn't watch him in college so no idea if you're right but it would be very understandable after what I saw his rookie season.

The Hard Knocks episodes were funny when he made it to the NFL. His teammates messing with him..... “He’s just mad he took a pay cut to come to the NFL.” Lol

I remember he said that he wanted to enter sports media after his playing days ended, and USC had a better program to prepare him for that.

I can’t seem to recall why he decided to go to USC.

USC outbid LSU, and everyone else. That's pretty much it, no matter what anyone else in the thread says

I attended Curtis during this time, spoke with Joe on a personal level regularly, and LSU was never seriously considered. It was all USC all the time.

That said, Joe was a toxic individual as a teammate. He regularly bullied other players on the team who were considered "stars", none more so than a fellow DB/WR who went on to play D1 ball and came over from Rummel after Katrina. He took that player's bookbag with all of his stuff in it, threw it in the shower, and pissed on it. He always had the need to feel better than others, partly due to the fact his father was also a POS. Was always a guy who got by on natural ability with minimal effort and it showed in the pros when he went on to his famed McDonald's diet.
