Can someone explain to me what Tom Herman has done to be considered elite?

and thus justify a salary of $5-$6M a year?

I know his rep is great but...what has he done?

Honestly...not a damn thing. He's winning against inferior competition. Going to be different at Texas.

•Turned Iowa States offense into a huge threat.
•No matter how many Quarterback injuries st ohio state the next Quarterback performed like a heisman caliber player
•Beat Nick Saban and put up over 40 i believe in them not sure exact number off top of my head
•Beat FSU in 2015 and one loss in first season at Houston
•Beat Heisman front-runner Lamar Jackson and BXII Champion Oklahoma

His status as elite is certainly debatable. Ed's status as mediocre is not.

Seems to be an arse, from what I can tell, maybe that's the draw. "Oh he's a real prick, just like Saban." I'm gonna go ahead and say it now, Herman is no Saban.

He's one of the best young offensive minds in football and paired up with Aranda the ceiling is sky high

His value will probably not be any higher so he is smart to ask for max he can, knowing teams are desperate and will pay.

It's not about what he does, but potential. He has the highest ceiling out of all the candidates with a good history of acquaintances. He's just a perfect storm of good sounding stuff.

Regardless of who you hire, you take a risk. Some coaches are low risk, but average results. Herman is high risk, but chance for home run. In this market, schools have to take risks if they want to establish a dynasty. Because once a coach becomes a dynasty, very unlikely he'll want to leave. So you won't find one just lying around.

You realize he didn't build up houston. Briles and Sumlin did that. Sumlin had a 13-1 season as well.

Fack if I know

This will be Austin's second failed attempt and they will continue to fail as their leadership, much like LSU's but much worse, is a perpetual dumpster fire
