They guy is known to be an outstanding defensive line coach. There is a reason Pete Carrol and Jimmy Johnson had him on their staffs.

I think (could be wrong) that your premise is a straw man. I see no "legitimate hatred" for Coach O. Maybe I'm missing it. Speaking for myself, I like the guy (he's very likable) and I admire the job he's done as interim head coach.

All that said, he was hired as a position coach. I don't want him as permanent head coach. Doesn't mean I "hate" him, and I'd love to see him stay on the staff.

i think people hate the people who have retarded arse logic supporting coach O moreso than the actual hate for Coach O himself. "he loves LSU and louisiana, dream job, get him the best coordinators in the land and watch him be so great" type fans draws a bad reaction from people.

Excellent post. I was going to post the exact same thing.

Not word for word of course.

But since you beat me to it, all I have to say is bravo GeauxTiger.

I think this entire argument has be blown out of proportion from the get go. Most fans never said give him the job without any stipulations. There were requirements that I think O had to meet and has not met a couple only.

There is one left for him to do and that is lay out his plan of who would run the offense. That is only fair. Miles would have lost 3 - 4 mores games by now with the same group and the games we won would have a had a 1-6 point margin.

O has at least earned the respect to go through this search without 30% of the fans acting like little btches before O even won his second game. s

No. Say what one will about Miles, he always won at least 8 games per year.

I haven't seen all that much directed toward him personally, more so toward his supporters.

That said, Saturday was embarrassing, and the head coach is ultimately the person responsible. He let the other team mock LSU's deceased mascot, let his players use social media to taunt the other team before the game, let his players scuffle with the other team (and coaches!) during pre-game, let an injured Fournette play, let the offensive coordinator call horrible, predictable plays, let LSU lose by 6 points to a team that they were favoured against by 14 points (a 20-point swing), and let the opposing coach mock LSU at his press conference in LSU's own stadium.

Like O, he needed to go, but for years people, yourself included, did nothing but shite in the guy's mouth. To now step back and act offended that the playing field this type of attitude created towards our head coaching position has turned on the interim is kind of funny.

Exactly. You had dumbasses that hated miles saying we should give O a break. Im looking at you peej.

We had lsu "fans" on here acting like the last 4 years was destroying lsu football. As if 10 win seasons and top 16 finishes are destroying this program. It amazing to see all these people back O yet they hated the most successful coach in lsu history.

You mistake our comments on O as crapping on him, when it's actually crapping on the silly posters that still think he is more qualified than the other top 5 candidates.

I actually really like O and appreciate what he has done.

But, i despise the these idiotic posters.

I haven't seen any hatred of the guy.

The problem is that no one takes the approach that reasonable minds can differ. No different than the Miles debacle.

The anti Les crowd magnified every negative to the point that the posi Les crowd felt a need to defend the defenseless.

This is no different.

Head coach hiring is a crap shoot at best. Most of them DO NOT work out. Coaches are hired to be fired is amazingly accurate.

Reasonable people can think O could be ok with an offensive coordinator. Reasonable people can also have issue with his past and his inability to control the offense, which IMO needs to be done.

Their opinion is as valid as yours, this is the problem.

The program will not be on its death bed unless we quit recruiting, or don't recruit well. We can overcome a failed hire of O, if it fails, almost immediately.

Bring in someone who cant recruit and then loses, and we are back where we were 20 years ago.

Not an O supporter here, but having a positive view of O isn't idiotic.

Amazing how some people just want a coach that looks "society".
Coach O is a very good coach ... great..do not know yet.

has not had one single spring season on which to build the team.

At this time, and seeing the amount of money LSU may waste ...
.... not as bad as many who think the "grass is always greener on the other side" think.

NEW COACH = NEW WAYS AND THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES.
I am against putting our players thru 3 coaches in 3 years.

I can agree to an extent, especially in the grass is not always greener part. I do have a concern, that for long term success O will be held hostage to his hire of an OC, if he hires the right one we can only hold onto them briefly.

If he hires retreads that will stay here forever, we get what Miles hired. If he hires the new hot shot, he may fail miserably.

I want someone that can take care of one side of the ball or the other. So, I want a coach like Aranda or Jimbo or Herman or Gundy. One that can be held responsible for his specialty as well as stacking up the Ws.

They are a few Fisher supporters. Fisher is the wrong choice for LSU because of his track record at LSU, too much off the field baggage, and it is like hiring Les Miles with a new OC. Here is a sample of what fans think:

We don't hate Orgeron we just didn't want him as our coach. We didn't want the same thing to happen last year where outside forces sway Alleva into making the wrong hire. Blame the people who were talking him up like the savior of LSU football when it was very clear to anyone who knows what they were talking about that he wasn't.

This team wasn't up to play UF with the sugar bowl in sight. He's still got to navigate a Thursday night game against a team desperately looking to beat LSU.

Oh, it's dumb to say he doesn't have the qualifications to be the head coach?

Enlighten me. What reasoning would have for him to be named head coach?

He has done nothing but put his heart and soul into this thing and give it his best shot. Has he earned the job? No, I wouldn't say so, but the guy came in mid-season to a dumpster fire and at least brought some energy and enthusiasm into what was a lost season.

Coach loves LSU, and deserves the respect of fans. I don't see any reason to start 1000 threads deriding him and some literally celebrating his demise.

I agree. we have some trashy and uneducated fans. I wish they would defect to florida

One thing is obvious. There is never pleasing some of you. You call those of us that support Coach O a bunch of O pumpers. Well it's our right to show support for a man that loves LSU, did one hell of a job recruiting for us aND stepped into a bad situation and spurned life into this football team. God forbid he loses to Bama and then Florida. Newsflash as shoes you can't win em all. You are the ones that are the Jumbo pumpers and I'm going to laugh my as off at you when Jumbo says hell no I'm not leaving FSU for LSU. The man has said it numerous times he loves where he is. And who the hell would want to come coach here with you ducking cry babies always never happy. If LSU is favored to win by 42 and only wins by 41 you would bitch. And then most home games our supposedly No1 fan base leaves the stadium at half time....seriously on Natonal TV looking at our stands in the beginning of the 3rd quarter and seeing the stadium half full. Some of you make me sick.
