Finish strong and yes.

I thought Cam Carter was out of eligibility?

Give the guy a chance with a full healthy roster.
He's had three chances with three different rosters. The results are a sub .500 overall winning % and sub .300 SEC winning %. It's funny that Jalen Reed was just another guy when the season started, but suddenly became second only to Bill Walton the moment he was lost for the season. I guess that is the Myles Brennan path to "greatness"

For God's sake, we were within 6 pts. of Auburn with about 8 minutes to go.
Well, I guess if you go by McMahon's moral victory record vs. his actual record the program is in pretty good shape

Do we really want to buy out another LSU coach.
When that HC is the worst performing HC over the course of the last 3 seasons, yes, you want to buy him out rather than prolong the inevitable. As a basketball fan don't you want to see the program improve as quickly as possible?
I will give it to Matt though. He has somehow cultivated a small, but dedicated personal fan club that in the face of all objective data are certain great times are ahead.
Ed Orgeron wins the NC with the greatest season in CFB history, then has 1.5 poor seasons...FIRE HIM!!!
Les Miles never wins fewer than 9 games in a season for 7 years (except for the 2015 season because the McNeese game was canceled)....Get rid of this loser!! Should have been gone long ago!!!!"
Paul Mainieri plays for a NC in 2017 and is in the Super Regionals in 2019....Fire Paul!!!!
Hell, Nikki Fargas has a 20 win season in 2020....Time for her to go!!!
McMahon leads LSU to the worst 3 year performance in nearly 30 years...."well, hold on just a minute. Let's not rush to judgment."

NIT is only a good result when Will Wade went there.

Where does this come from? Reed and Ward were the building blocks for this team.

A trip to the NIT is not a consolation prize.

I can't decide whether I'd prefer the College Basketball Invitational or the College Insider Tournament.
I'm leaning towards the CBI. If you make the finals you get to play in the Ocean Center and the semis & finals are televised on ESPNU/ESPN2.
But in the CIT, you could potentially play all of your games in the PMcMAC. So more folks could attend and give the McMen a homecourt advantage and potentially win a title on the home court.
What do y'all think?

Reed wasn't looked at as the "star" player or "best" player coming into the season. A returning starter who you hoped was improving with more experience? Absolutely. But the best player? No one said that....until he got injured after 7 games. Suddenly he became LSU's "best" player (even though he was averaging the fewest minutes of any regular starter besides Robert Miller) and his absence the excuse for why McMahon should bear no responsibility for another poor season. "It was just bad luck!"
No other HC on campus gets treated with such kid-gloves, and no other HC has been given so much rope despite objectively awful performances over the course of multiple years. It's just bizarre. Within two years of his arrival Woodward moved to quickly fire two HC's with with National Championships on their resume for underperforming. Yet the HC on campus who has had the worst performance of anyone over the last 3 years gets a 4th year without seemingly any thought of making a change?

Normally I would say no way because it costs about $30k to enter the tournament. But given the basketball is about to be flush with huge NIL money I say, "why not?"

If they're going all-in with basketball, I can't think of a reason they wouldn't want to get more games in and give fans more opportunities to watch the team.
Seems like a lot of people around here believe in McMatt and the program so you'd think they'd draw well.

They cannot make NCAA with this team!

It is odd, especially on here where it seems half the posters want coaches fired after every game even if they win.
I'd have an easier time understanding if they were having another season around .500 in conference. Give a little more NIL support, more that'll bump em into the upper portion of the conference. But they're 3-10 in year 3. I don't think anyone expected them to be winning the conference, but I don't really understand what people can point to, after 3 years, that gives the belief that this thing is heading in the right direction.

Well technically they can. But yes, in reality they definitely can not.
