First post, and I'm asking for help. Hopefully that's not against the rant rules. I'm a long time LSU fan who hasn't caught a game in person since South Carolina '12 (great memory with my Dad). Anyway, I will be in Hopedale for a fishing tournament the day of the UF game. Best guess...I would probably get out of there just before or right at 4 p.m. that Saturday. Do you think it is practical to try to make it to the game with the complication of having to find a place to park a truck and boat? If so, what would be your best guess as to what time I would arrive at the stadium?

Mapquest says it's right at a 2 hour drive, but I don't know how the traffic/parking is nowadays right before kickoff. I've actually never arrived to a game less than a few hours before kickoff. I don't even know if there would be any place to park my rig at that point. Plan B is shrimp po'boy and hotel room, but I hate to be that close to the game and not go. If I think I can make it before the end of the first quarter, I'm coming. And when it has been a few years since my last game, I will be so hoarse I won't be able to speak the next day. Is it hopeless?

unless you own a helicopter, not a chance in hell

It's two hours with no traffic, traffic will be insane and you won't find parking within a couple miles of the stadium so be prepared for a long walk

also, there's no way I'd leave my boat and gear anywhere near campus on gameday

Its 2 hours from Hopedale to Baton Rouge on a day without traffic to an area not holding an LSU game. You could get into the LSU lakes area and park and have a good 35 min walk to the stadium. Best guess is that you would make the second half.

youd be better off making the run in the boat and parking in the river

Impossible. Especially pulling a boat. I can't even imagine where you'd park.

I'd choose one or the other. In this case I'd choose the game.

I had the same thought, but 125+ river miles says otherwise.

Stay in Hopedale and watch it at the camp!!

I actually considered the river route, only I came up with closer to 165 miles. That pipe dream didn't last long. Thanks for saving me the cost of the ticket, though. I might have gotten caught up in the traffic leaving the stadium on my way in.

Park your truck and boat at College walmart, if you can get to that parking lot by 5:45 you can uber right up to the stadium.

I've driven/rode the river from Venice to BR a number of times. You would be done by the time you get off the boat. That can be a brutal trip.

Yes. If u hurry u can make it to College Drive Walmart by 5:50 and taxi from there. There will be no traffic as everyone will already be at the game.
