Those were the best days!!! They changed the rules because of us. For the 01 sugar we camped out 5 days in advance during finals week! Regional ticket sales days were also great camp out times.

Don't laugh but I remember my husband (grad student in 1995) camping out for INDEPENDENCE BOWL TICKETS for us. FREEZING cold ... his friend had just been talked OUT of going by his wife and then my hubby calls and says "hey come camp out with me".
Of course back then a ticket was a ticket ... and it was in Shreveport BUT it was a hard ticket to get relatively speaking since we had sucked for so damn long.

I didnt even run lol. Just walked up to the front with the other 10 that sprinted.
That, plus the cop car splitting the crowd, and me drinking for about 18 straight hours made for an awesome day lol

Oh god, after NOPD fricked up the line royally, I was scrunched up so tight I couldn't move.
I had to apologize to 3 different people for inappropriate touching just to get my fricking phone out of my pocket.

Assigned seats but they are issued in order beginning on row 1...we wanted row 1 in the dome because it's a great seat...

Similar happened in 01. Skip came to work the next day (t-4 days) and was like wtf? So they come out and give us bracelets telling us our spot is saved and no one can come back til the day they went on sale. Apparently more people went camp out the night before and in the morning the cops came and made everyone disperse. Then they lined everyone up in the ath dept/stadium lot next to south stadium and said don't run but when we blow the horn go to the ath bldg and make a line. Well obviously everybody ran so they made everyone go back and everyone race walked to the line and they counted it. We had our bracelets so we just walked up, but watching all that happen was greatness. I think at some point the morning they dispersed everyone, someone threw a garbage can through one of the windows. Ahhh the good old days...
