Cam Thomas has all the talent in the world, but...

but his basketball IQ is severely lacking. He really takes a lot of bad shots.
He's becoming like a black hole when someone passes him the ball. When the ball hit his hands, he's has in his head that he's shooting it no matter what and it's hurting the team. Yeah, he makes some, but he also misses a lot and also turns the ball over when he can't get a shot up. All he has to do is pass the ball when his shot isn't there and work to reposition himself for a better shot. The ball will come back around to him. Wade definitely needs wheel him back in a few notches and have him work within the confines of the offense. It will only make him and the team that much better.

Wade hasn’t asked him to play with the team. In fact he’s given him special privileges which is never a good idea. So you have the team playing together then one guy playing by himself and it’s by design which is insane.

I'm all for him taking shots but he forces a lot at times and isn't taking 'good' shots. Pass the ball up, get it back for a better look.
Even the commentators were pointing it out today. Talented kid but tries to do way too much at times and it hurts us in stretches despite the good he does.

had a clean look 3 pointer to tie, and barely drew iron. Nobody here is commenting on that.

He’s so much better attacking the paint I dunno why that’s not his 1st option. What’s going on with Cam is unexplainable.

And he’s not some JJ Reddick type dead eye from 3. Like Alt referenced he misses wide open looks and misses them bad sometimes. He’s a streak shooter but he’s a constant weapon when he attacks so why is he allowed to play backwards? That’s on Wade

Y’all haven’t even mentioned his defense . I’ve been going to LSU basketball games my entire life and I’ve never seen a guy that looks so lost on defense . I keyed in on him most the game today and the guy literally looks like he’s never played the game on that side of the floor

I agree. He takes too many bad shots without even looking for an open teammate. A good coach would not let a player just shoot anytime he wants, but WW does and that's one of the reasons he attracts talented players. It's street ball and players know they can shoot anytime they want if they come to LSU. WW is just not a very good basketball coach and it's becoming more and more evident with each passing game!

I disagree. I think he knows exactly what he’s doing but just doesn’t care due to how the coaches are handling him. He has a green light to shoot whenever he feels like it, which is pretty much every time he touches the ball.

Not to mention Chris Jackson. CJ fouled out 3 players in his SEC debut at Florida. The big difference is CJ made his free-throws AND he was one of the best finishers of all time. Even being fouled he had a good chance of making the shot.

This is the issue. There are very few set plays to get him looks. He’s much better off the dribble that spotting up. I’d like more isolation so he could get some advantage and if doubled have pass options. But he’s got to take 20 shots for us to beat anybody decent, just the facts

He does what WW tells him to do....youre a playmaker, make some plays! Thats our offense.
