The only image I have of The Outlaw Josey Wales as it applies to LSU Football is Kirby remarking to Nick... "Whooped em again Josey!" and Nick saying "I reckon so..."

Well Les' message this year to this team should come from ol Josey:

Now remember, when things look bad and it looks like you're not gonna make it, then you gotta get mean. I mean plumb, mad-dog mean. 'Cause if you lose your head and you give up then you neither live nor win. That's just the way it is.

Based on what? Seriously, give me one QB in the last 10-12 years, aside from JJ, at LSU that has started consecutive seasons and hasn't improved.

I'll wait.

Eta: Never mind. After reading your past posts it appears you're a moron. So nothing I'll say will help. Enjoy your miserable life.

Harris won't automatically get better results, even IF he is an improved player.

Comparing him with Mett is unfair to both, Mett started in the NFL, as a QB
Harris Never will.

Let's just look at offensive passing rankings. You can pick in category...passing yards per game, passing yards per season, passer rating, completion percentage, efficiency,....outside of one season LSU has ranked in the triple digits in all of these categories since 2008.

LSU's inept passing has kept them from winning championships.

Now you can put the passing game in a box and say all the problems are because of a lack of a returning starter. But the truth is this, that Jennings improved so much his second year that he was benched for a below average young qb in Harris. Jefferson improved so much that there was qb controversy his entire qb career at LSU, Lee improved so much that he couldn't beat out one of the worst QB's in modern history at LSU. You can grasp at straws with Mettenburgers second year as the lone QB that les recruited and developed that was successful. But the truth is he hit the jackpot wit the talent that year and he still couldn't win a championship with that.

The true measure of coaching ability in my opinion is when a coach has to make it work with less than stellar talent. Ole Miss has done that at QB recently, Bama has done it with multiple QB's, UF did it last season, why can't LSU do it outside of when they had an NFL QB that was throwing to two NFL all pros and handing off to a feature NFL back? LSU has done it before. They won a championship with Mauck, they won a lot of games with Randall.

This staff has flopped on talent evaluation, recruitment, development, and scheme when it comes to the QB. That's the only way you get the consistent triple digit passing rankings in almost every measurable category.

But you keep blaming it on needing a returning starter. If that was the case and the staff is profficient at developing the QB why is Jennings gone and not entering his third year as the starting QB?

JJ regressed his second season as the starter. Granted that was Crowton, but still, its not like it hasn't happened before under Miles.

Well we always have the LM run game as our default....I mean Bo Sh...

Small sample size and an unfair comparison. Just because BH is black and can run, that doesn't make him JJ.

The vast majority of the time quarterbacks across college football get better with more experience. Just like with anything else, experience necessarily makes you better.

Anthony Jennings didn't improve a whole lot either. I'm not saying Harris won't improve, I'm just saying it's not a done deal either.

Because he got beat on the depth chart. You know as well as I do that he was never 100 percent the guy. He always shared time with BH. There's a difference between being the starter, getting reps, and improving at the position and sharing time before you lose your spot. He didn't have the opportunity to improve in the same way that most starting QBs do.

If you want to bemoan the ability of the staff to recognize great QBs when they see them, fine. But to expect that BH won't improve enough to win a lot of games based on the JJ phenomenon is ignorant.

But again, I've seen your post history. There's nothing anyone will say to change your mind that we'RE going to be mediocre next year. So run along.

Utter bullshite fabrication. In fact I don't think you can link a single season that fits your claim.

Look from what I saw, Etling has a much better understanding of the offense and can complete the drive sustaining intermediate routes that harris still struggles with. Harris hits a beauty deep ball, but then a series later can't connect on a ball out of the backfield with to a wide open Fournette. That's harris in a nutshell

I don't think it'd be such an unpopular opinion today

but the infuriating part is the staff's inability to see or recognize this. This is who Harris is, Saturday's piss poor showing should not have been surprising to any of them.....and yet here we are.

Tigerfan in bama land. I can promise u our passing game is deader than a bama fan that doesn't cry when they lose at a watch party. The " body of work" is enough from Saturday all that is left is the autopsy

I really don't know why people don't believe Harris will be better. Even if our scheme stayed the same passing would improve based solely on his experience.
