Breaking News - This just in to the WINO newsroom and sports center: LSU's Cam Johnson just walked another batter.
For those who think I was being unfair or cruel to Cam Johnson with my above comment, Johnson pitched 9 innings this past season and he walked 16 batters...

Had a feeling this one was coming, great potential but had issues throwing strikes. He'll grow and this won't be last time we hear his name

All prospects are suspects until proven otherwise. And didn’t prove anything. And clearly didn’t want to wait to prove anything.

Anyone not claiming to be sold on Coach O through the 2019 season is being very disingenuous.

After a title with primarily PM’s recruits? Hell, Les Miles won one with Saban’s recruits. Were you sold on him? If he puts together a couple of years with HIS recruits where he’s hosting tourney’s, I will be sold him.

Tommy White
Paul Skenes
Hurd
Cooper
Ackenhausen
Guidry
Shores
Little
Herring

Almost that entire pitching staff was guys that signed after paul left.

also, it’s insane how little credit Jay gets for guys like Milazzo and Beloso developing as hitters.

Hey Idiot
So many people have produced evidence how stupid you continue to look so I will try to help reign in your unbelievable naivety. Seriously, are you mentally challenged?
Anytime a new coach comes in, there will be players left over. We all know that. In fact the one thing Johnson had to do was RECRUIT PMs recruits like he did Kade Beloso after a year off and the guy wanting to move on with life. He in fact postponed getting married for JAY JOHNSON.
Do you really want me to list all of them such as Jobert and Pearson?
Skenes was NOT a PM recruit.
Cooper - the real MVP last year especially in Omaha was NOT a PM recruit.
White - led the nation in RBIs
Hurd
Other contributors
Guidry
Kling
Jones

I can keep going because LSU had ZERO LHP ON THR ROSTER JOHNSON INHERITED - ZERO.

Left over core kids were:
Dugas - when he was healthy
Morgan
Crews

Can’t even count Beloso in this group.

You’re building the case for JJ’s coaching prowess and you don’t even realize it.

Guy turned down a million bucks and threw 9 innings this year. I'd be gone too

The times I saw him pitch he just couldn't throw strikes. Hard to leave a guy out there that's letting the other team back in the game with walks.

Don’t forget about developing Jared Jones. Watching his at bats on the back half of this season was a thing of beauty. If Tommy White would’ve worked the count like Jones, his numbers would’ve been even better.

Totally agree. But on the flip side, hard to work on your command if you don't get much run. He'd probably be better served pitching for a lesser team that can afford to let him work through his issues without the added pressure of trying to compete for a national championship

Judging from his reaction to being drafted so low last year, I suspect Cam’s evaluation of himself is/was much higher than that of MLB’s scouting. I think he really believed he’d come in and be a weekend starter immediately.

A 99 mph fastball sounds great, but if you can’t find the plate, is ultimately useless. And it’s little better if you can find the plate, but it has no movement. Hitters at the upper levels figure out a flat, straight fastball pretty quick.
