Will Aranda coach from the sideline too?
If so, who goes up in the box for the defense? BDP?

So yea, we're a lil sour.
2 top recruiting classes.
Let me guess youre one of those posters that loves to tout how strong and deep the sec west and sec is and then gets mad when lsu loses 5 games with a bunch of true freshmen.

Exaclty. That great Jimbo lost as many games as the average Miles did last year and he plays in the fricking acc. The worst conf in cfb.

Yep, and you can throw in the blame game as well. Despite what so many fans think, there is never just one deciding factor when something goes wrong or right. It's usually several contributing factors like starting a true sophomore under center, an OC who coached weeks at a time from an iPad while he under went treatments for prostate cancer, sports hernia to the starting QB on the back end of the season & an injury to the starting fullback around midseason. The blame game in the direction of the coaches is always the easy route. It takes more rationale to actually pinpoint more exact & accurate reasonings which many are too lazy to do.

That's the first thought that came to my mind.
It seemed like no matter how far they had to go to get a first, as long as Mett wasn't sacked AND had he had a minimal amount of time to set his feet/make a few quick downfield read, the following sequence of events would take place:
1. Mett drops back
2. Mett looks downfield
3. Ball is thrown downfield, and delivered somewhere in the general vicinity of 80 or 3.
4. The ball would be caught.
5. A fresh set of downs showed up.
It was almost like (and this is from a Miles supporter) Miles intentionally handicapped the offense on first and second down just to enjoy watching Mett/80/3 make otherwise impossible looking situations look routine.
I really did starting looking at 3rd and long as a blessing because I came to almost expect conversion.
Was kinda like when JM was QB. Anytime he avoided a rush, got outside the pocket, and in doing that give himself a month and a year to look downfield, a LONG completion was about to happen. DB's couldn't cover folks THAT long, and because of Russell's arm strength, it didn't matter where the receiver finally cleared, because JM could get the ball QUICKLY to where ever that happened to be.

Amazing that regardless of the positive news there's always a flood of negative posts like flies to feces.
This isn't positive news. Anybody that watches LSU routinely knows that is all from 2012. You know, the season with an NFL QB, an NFL starting RB with almost 2000 yards and 20 TDs in 2 years, 2 Pro Bowl WRs; one with 280 receptions over 1900 yards and 10 TDs, and one with 290 receptions over 2750 yards and 25 TDs in only 2 years, an All Pro guard, and the most impressive rookie offensive lineman last year.
LSU has been 63rd (2016) and 71st (2015) in 3rd down conversion %.
I mean I'd rather it not require a gang of top NFL players just to have an efficent offense at LSU.

What was the percentage of 3rd down conversions in losses?
Well, you'd have to compare that to other teams' % in losses, right?

He had flashes and some nice highlights, but he was far from the best rookie offensive lineman last season
I'd say Sherff was better at G alone

LSU has been 63rd (2016) and 71st (2015) in 3rd down conversion %.
I didn't pick the timeframe, so I guess you should research 3rd% for only last 2 years, or maybe throw out best of the 3 seasons for each of these coaches and write your own blog post.

Not to mention that offense finished 61st in 3rd down % in 2012 with the same QB, RB, WRs, etc.
What year do you think it is?
