I just don’t get how you can find a person to be worthless and a piece of shite if you are a Christian and believe in people changing for the better. That’s crazy to me . That was the least classy thing any coach has ever said in recent media and it was no big deal. Why is that?
That was meant to be a private locker room moment that was on the subject of his job.
The radio caller brought up a personal matter that is very sensitive and the face of the program threatened a caller. Whether he was joking or not, it was a threat. When it comes to that kind of subject he needs to keep his mouth shut.
The two situations you're comparing couldn't be any different.

Because it was said in a locker room that was away from the public. A player recorded it on his phone and it got out.
That's a little different than what Ed did on a his own show, a publicly broadcasted radio show for anyone to listen to and then went further and kept talking about an already weird situation, making it worse.
He can't afford to talk smack to some caller. What he said tonight and the way he conducted himself was dumb. He has to be the bigger person, even if he's really ticked off.
Implying that he'd take that caller somewhere down the bayou and 'put' him in a fishing hole is a no no. Whether he was joking or not, he can't say that kind of stuff.
Say nothing and continue. He couldn't.
