This thread needs to die. It’s going to be a long freaking week.

My biggest bet of the year is always LSU's first game. It seems like the odds makers always miss it. I'll do the same this year. This line will climb 1-1.5 before game time.

I knew that was coming. Let's hope lightning in a bottle keeps repeating itself and on both sides of the ball this time.
PS - just because the OC was working with Brady does not mean he is a clone of Brady either.
Hope it works out as we need some stability over the next several years.

neutral site season openers

I guess you can say the Rose Bowl in Pasadena is neutral site, as it's 20 miles from the UCLA campus.

I post the same thing every year...if LSU wins every game by 1 point, they win the SEC and the national championships. Just win.

However this is the third year of the spread at LSU, and our OC having worked with Brady is a huge plus. We have a returning QB with real experience and some consistency in offensive scheme from the best offense in college football history.

Our DC hasn't called plays at D1 level but he's an experienced NFL DB coach who knows how to defend much more complicated and talented offenses than the one we will see at the Rose Bowl. He's also not Bo Pelini.

Everyone knows how much NFL talent LSU has, the big questions are our coordinators but I feel confident we will make a good showing. I'm going all in, laying the points and taking the Tigers

Definitely. Whether the score is 28-27 or 55-6, the outcome is the same. Just win!

Some of LSU's most notable wins have been the closest games. Think the Earthquake Game, or the 16-13 victory in OT over undefeated Alabama in 2005.

Not saying Peetz is Brady. Simply put, every coordinator has to call his 1st play at some point.

I’m by no means expecting 2019 this year. Just not sold on the “they’ve never called plays”

These guys (Peetz & Mangus) have been around the game, in the film room, on the headset and buried in the playbook. Specifically Brady’s playbook. Not expecting the world set on fire, but not dismissing them before I see the product either.

In my opinion, It will come down to talent on the field more so than play calling. A lot like 2018

LSU has a hell of a lot more talent than UCLA. But it’s fair to be concerned, absolutely.

Vegas has us as only a 4 point spread over UCLA and ESPN has us going 7-5 strictly because they’re not sold on Ed Orgeron. The guy who is 45-14 at LSU.

Slow start to season, very strong finish. Young players grow up quickly.
