Idiots will post anything without knowing shite . Cajuns were run out of Nova Scotia because the refused to take an oath to the British takeover of the country. In fact they showed leadership by not bowing down to the British . I tell you this board is full idiots
Relax, chief. It was a joke. I’m fully aware of why and how they were exiled from Nova Scotia.

Just remember the ones throwing the bigot rocks were the same ones defending Orgeron to the bitter end when the train went of the rails

as someone who has lived in both states I think it's an apples to oranges comparison. texas is way larger both in size and population. it's also not as lavish or spectacular as you'd think.
houston is basically just baton rouge with more people imo

Never defended Ed.
I appreciate what he did for us but he coasted after and needed to go.
I will however call bullshite on this thread it has no place on an LSU sports board.

Comparing Louisiana to Texas is like comparing apples to my gigantic nuts!
According to my 1960 World Book Encyclopedia, Texas and Louisiana were on par. My guess is education and government are the things to pushed Texas forward.

I see a ton of this on the board and have no clue what and how you are all freaking out about. This happens everywhere in every state across the country
Did you think a whole new administration would be swooping in and taking over? When has that ever happened anywhere?
Who is out there ready to bail out the university and all the problems? I understand there are issues but some of you need to take a step back and take a deep breath.
It will all be ok and things will work out. The sun will rise tomorrow and all will be okay

What a crock of shite. Maybe the 5th and some of the second Ward. You can’t be serious with what all Houston has downtown with sports, venues, Museums, Jones Hall, and on and on. Then there’s the largest and one of if not the best Medical Centers in the World with Hermann and Methodist being ranked 1st in there respective services. MD Anderson is also highly ranked. Texas Children’s and on and on. Try to think before you spit shite out that you don’t know a fricking thing about.

It really is weird how they always gravitate to the most stupid person to lead them. It's like they don't have any other requirements except for "talks like us", which to most people just means sound dumb as hell.
Is it? It's almost like they gravitate to their own ethnicity regardless of qualifications. As long as they are "one of us" we will be fine. The one of us being treated as an ethnicity in this case.
Sounds oddly familiar....
As a Cajun myself, with traceable ancestry, I notice this and I will still be downvoted to hell and back.

Most here haven’t lived anywhere else but the bayou. They have never lived in Dallas or Frisco Texas. To be honest most in Louisiana don’t know how bad the water they are swimming in is.

Don’t come here with this bs Texas shite. I was born and raised in Texas. It has its own list of problems that Texans never want to bring up. Is Louisiana perfect, hell no, but let’s not act like Texas is the the fricking picture of desire.
I don’t have enough time or patience to list the problems at either one. Please stop with that bs

I was born in raised in Baton Rouge. I used to live in Upper Kirby in Houston and now I live in South Florida. I'm aware of how bad Baton Rouge and the state of Louisiana as a whole is.
That being said, acting like Texas is some paradise is laughable

Dat’s me too, cher.
You raise something I’ve thought and thought about for a long time as someone who loves LA and home.
I tried to describe it once as having a chip on our collective shoulders, but it’s airbrushed and only moves when someone says we can’t throw a good party.
It’s an insistence on stupidly fighting stupid battles with no appreciation that there’s even a war we could win. See chip, shoulder.
Maybe it’s being proud to be from a place, not of a place.
I’m just waxing philosophical, which is different than philosophical waxing.

I have lived in both states among others in the states. My comment that he replied to was comparing fricking BR to Houston. Get your shite straight.

I’m offended because you’re a fricking idiot posting on shite you know nothing about.
If you’re talking “diversity”, then it is very diverse but that doesn’t mean it is ghetto like BR.
Does it have its issues? Sure but the quality of life and opportunities to raise a family is excellent if you pick the right areas to live JUST LIKE ANYWHERE ELSE around the globe.
If you expand the Houston Metro area and pull in The Woodlands, Conroe, Kingwood, Clearlake, Pearland, Sugar Land and on and on, it isn’t close to BR metro area.
I lived in St Amant and Prairieville on 2 different stint as well as Baton Rouge both in college and in the 80’s, and it isn’t a comparison.

I lived in Upper Kirby which is one of the nicer areas in Houston. I know what I'm talking about lmao.

Not speaking to diversity, but ask anyone from Texas and tell them you're from/live in Houston and they will call it the ghetto.

Yeah no shite. I want you to use your brain and understand what I mean by "with more people". Obviously with more people there will be more money in the economy and therefore more amenities/opportunity. I moved to Houston seeking opportunity, like many people from Louisiana.
That being said, I was genuinely disillusioned by my time there. There is still a lot of crime, a lot of rundown areas, homelessness EVERYWHERE, etc. Its nice areas are nice, but it has slums and ghetto areas just like BR.
I'm simply saying if you take Houston and PROPORTIONATELY scale it down you get Baton Rouge. That is what I'm saying.
And on a positive note, "Baton Rouge but more people" also speaks to the culture. It is very different from the rest of Texas, and reminded me a lot of my home. I'm sorry I offended you and your beloved Space City.

I am speaking to Houston itself and not the metro area. Obviously once you're out of the 610 loop /beltway 8 it gets nicer.
