he he he...Thanks for coming over and all. Welcome to the Rant. BYU will get bulldozed in this game.

Really though, we're going in dry AF. It'll be a party!

BYU had a stout run D. How many defensive linemen returning?

BYU fan here. Posters over on www.cougarboard.com have done a decent job of finding and posting relevant LSU info. I see this being closer than a lot of you think. BYU's defense is going to be very good this year, the offense should be decent. The one new development is it sounds like our starting WLB will be out for our game. Here's how I rate the matchups: BYU defense: 8 BYU offense: 7 LSU defense: 10 LSU offense: 6 (due to conflicting QB rumblings, first year with this offense, thinning O-line. I just don't see how you will be able to run much on us). This will be a defensive struggle. I would bet the final score to be something in the 14-10 range. I am ranking LSU's D as 3 units higher than BYU's offense, and BYU's defense as 2 units higher than LSU's offense. With that being said, LSU gets the 14 and BYU gets the 10. It will be nice to watch some football in 12 days.

This is so fricking adorable. I don't even have a witty response.

At the moment, the spread is the same as the Wisconsin game.

Yeah, coaching staff is a little different.

If LSU loses this one, the dust cloud will be so gigantic the U.S will think Kim Jung Un just struck the southern coast with a missile.

What's that have to do with the spread being the same?

If LSU can run Matt Canada's system with any efficiency this game will be a blow out and every team on LSU's schedule better start prepping for a real offense littered with talent. LSU's WRs are better than advertised with some experience mixed with young incredibly big and athletic players. LSU's defense will be better than last year despite losing a 1st round CB and having 2 LBs drafted. LSU has the potential to be a dominant team barring injuries to key positions like RB, LB and OL.

The key to this is how well Etling and the offense ease into Canada's system. Etling is smart and can run an offense, he just doesn't have big arm talent to drive the ball accurately down field, but the offense is designed to stretch defenses horizontally and to take what is given... The problem for BYU is Canada will move Guice around, and you CANNOT give Guice an inch because he will run over your secondary.

LSU has a coming out party against the Cougs scoring early and often 48-17 with BYU scoring a late TD in the 4th against the backups.

It's going to be funny watching our young college kids especially with all the freshman who supposed to contribute, whip up on grown men Who is old enough to be playing in the NFL. Also BYU is going to be amazed and overwhelmed by the speed of LSU

What about the previous 10 seasons openers we as fans showed up for and LSU did come out with a win?

Hell that was LSUs first ooc loss since VA tech I believe.

So 1 loss out of 60 games. Yeah I'm not worried.

All great points. You just sounded silly using the spread as proof of why this will be a different outcome than Wisconsin

BYU has piss poor tackling... Guice will have a field day. Few Defensive TDs and Turnovers on the short side of the field will blow the score open. 48-17

If LSU scores less than 30, half of the Rant will declare Canada a failure.
